Ranbir Kapoor Birthday  : Actor Ranbir Kapoor is celebrating his 40th birthday today. Son of actors Neetu Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor has created his own space in the industry with his dedication and hard work. From portraying the role of Sanjay Dutt in the biopic ‘Sanju’ to playing a deaf-mute boy in ‘Barfi’, the actor is one of the most versatile actors.

On the occasion of Ranbir Kapoor’s birthday, let’s take a look at some of his top performances.

‘Brahmastra’ (2022)

The Ayan Mukerji directorial marked his first film with wife-actor Alia Bhatt. In this fantasy action-adventure film, he portrayed the role of Shiva, whose world is turned upside down after he discovers that he possesses the power to control fire and connection with the astras. The film is doing wonders at the box office.

‘Sanju’ (2019)

After a brief break, the actor made his comeback with the smash hit ‘Sanju’, which chronicles the life of actor Sanjay Dutt. His performance in the Raj Kumar Hirani directorial won him the Filmfare award for Best Actor and the film broke the box- office records crossing Rs 300 crore in India and Rs 500 crore worldwide.

‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ (2016)  

 Ranbir Kapoor portrayed the role of Ayan Sagar in the Karan Johar directorial, co-starring Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Ayan, a naïve musician, falls in love with Alizeh, who is recovering from a breakup. They form an incredible bond. However, his love for her goes unrequited when she chooses her ex-lover, DJ Ali. Years later, Ayan and Alizeh, but she is now suffering from a terminal disease.

‘Barfi’ (2012)

Ranbir portrayed the role of a deaf-mute Nepali boy in this romantic drama, who forms a special bond with an autistic girl, Jhilmil, played by Priyanka Chopra. When his old flame, played by Ileana D’Cruz, comes back into his life, it creates misunderstandings between Jhilmil and him. The Anurag Basu directorial was selected as India's official entry at the 85th Academy Awards in the Best Foreign Language Film category.

‘Rockstar’ (2011)

Ranbir played the role of Janardhan Jakhar, a Delhi boy chasing his dreams of becoming a rock star. However, he goes through heartbreak in the midst of success in the Imtiaz Ali directorial. The actor’s performance received praise from the audience as well as critics. The movie was a box-office hit.
