Actor Kiara Advani, who is being trolled for her English accent at the Cannes Film Festival, recently shared a cryptic post on her social media. The quote on her Instagram story read, ‘Be that girl who roots for the other girl, tells a stranger her hair looks amazing, and encourages other women to believe in themselves and their dreams.’
Kiara made her Cannes debut this year and received praise for her stunning looks. However, some internet users criticized her accent. A video of the actor's interview on the red carpet of the Red Sea Film Foundation’s Women in Cinema gala dinner went viral, with some dubbing her accent as ‘fake’.
The dinner gala attended by Kiara was held during the 77th Cannes Film Festival, attracting celebrities from various industries. Kiara stunned in a pink and black satin gown paired with black gloves and a stunning Bulgari necklace.
During the gala, Kiara expressed her gratitude to all women in the entertainment industry for their contributions. She also gave a special mention to Eva Longoria, who was present at the event.
‘It’s my first time at Cannes. I couldn’t be more grateful to be here with the Red Sea Film Foundation for supporting women for years as we love cinema. As I stand here, I want to take a moment to give gratitude to some of the most powerful women,’ she said, further calling out the Hollywood star and adding, ‘Eva Longoria, you are here a big fan moment. Love you.’
