Actor Rhea Chakraborty, who is one of the judges on the youth-based reality show ‘MTV Roadies Season 19’, opened up about the unprecedented hate she received and the vicious media coverage that happened post the death of her boyfriend, late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
In a new promo of the show, she shared how a ‘lot of people’ said a ‘lot of things’ about her while talking to a contestant.
‘A lot of people say a lot of things. People have told me a lot of things as well… The kind of names they gave me, the things they said about me. But kya main unki wajah se woh cheez manugi (should I accept what was said about me)?
Kya main unke wajah se apne life mein rukungi? Bilkul bhi nahi… (Because of them, will I stop living my life? Not at all), she said.
The actor asked the female contestant to follow her gut and not pay any attention to the naysayers. ‘Will I give any importance to their voice? No. I have my own voice, and so do you. You listen to that and actually to hell with them. Kaun hai woh (who are these people anyway)?,’ she said.
Rhea Chakraborty was accused of peddling drugs to the late actor Sushant and for being involved in money laundering and abetting his alleged suicide among other things. She spent nearly a month in judicial custody at Byculla jail in Mumbai.
Rhea Chakraborty was last seen in the 2021 film ‘Chehre’, alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Emraan Hashmi, Krystle D’Souza, Siddhanth Kapoor, and Annu Kapoor among others.
‘Roadies’ marks the first project she has shot for after her release from jail.
