Shreyas Talpade dismisses death rumours; says ‘I am alive, healthy, and happy’

A false post about actor Shreyas Talpade’s death went viral, shocking fans. In response, Talpade issued a statement, denouncing the trolls responsible for spreading the distressing rumour.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Shreyas Talpade mentioned, ‘He is alive, happy, and healthy.’

Thanking all his friends and well-wishers who checked on him after reading the fake news, he added, ‘While I understand that humour has its place, when it’s misused, it can cause real harm.’

‘What may have started as a joke by someone, is now creating unnecessary worry and playing with the emotions of those who care about me, especially my family,’ his note further read.

Shreyas Talpade, who had a heart attack last year, expressed worry that the false news has increased his young daughter’s anxiety. He noted that she already has concerns about his health, and this rumour has only amplified her fears.

‘This false news only deepens her fears, forcing her to confront more questions from her peers and teachers, stirring up emotions that we’ve been trying to manage as a family,’ he said.

Shreyas Talpade has called for an end to the spread of false news about his death. ‘To the trolls, I have one request: please stop. Don’t make jokes at others' expense and don’t do this to anyone else. I wouldn’t want this happening to you, so please show some sensitivity. Chasing engagement and likes should never come at the cost of someone else's feelings,’ he stated.

As false rumors about the actor’s death circulated, netizens flocked to Google for confirmation. Over the past 24 hours, searches for ‘Shreyas Talpade’ surged between 10pm and 11pm on August 19.

In December 2023, Shreyas Talpade experienced a heart attack and was hospitalized. Reflecting on the traumatic event, the actor described his recovery as a ‘second chance at life’ and a ‘miracle.’

After his recovery, his wife Deepti expressed gratitude to doctors, fans, and supporters for their steadfast support.
