Miss Universe pageant for 2023 will take place on Saturday, 18 November 2023 at the José Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador.
For the pageant, 90 women across different countries have been selected and former Miss Universe R’Bonney Gabriel will crown the winner for this year. According to the organisers, the winner will be selected through a series of rounds including personal statements, in-depth interviews and presentations in evening gowns and swimwear.
TV presenters Jeannie Mai Jenkins and Maria Menounos, as well as former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo will host the show.
Contestant from India
Shweta Sharda will represent India at the 72nd Miss Universe contest. The 2023 Miss Diva Universe winner, a 22-year-old model and dancer, is from Chandigarh.
What sets this year's pageant apart?
This Miss Universe pageant will focus on progress and inclusivity. Maria Camila Avella Montañez from Colombia and Michelle Cohn from Guatemala will be the first mothers and married women to compete in the pageant. Rikkie Valerie Kollé from the Netherlands and Marina Machete from Portugal will be the second and third trans women to take part in Miss Universe.
