Independence Day 2022: India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Parliament, others lit up in tricolour

On the eve of India's 76th Independence Day, major public buildings across the country were lit up in colours of the national flag.

The Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi became a dazzling sight as it lit up in saffron, white, and green. The old Parliament building also shone in the national colours. The India Gate in Delhi was seen lit up in preparation for the celebrations today. The bronze National Emblem statue on the roof of the new Parliament Building was also bathed in tricolour.

Odisha's Bhubaneswar went all out, with not just government buildings, but also the streets decked up in saffron, white, and green. The facade of the Calcutta High Court in West Bengal's capital city Kolkata had a similar visage.

The Mubarak Mandi complex in Jammu and the airport in Srinagar, Kashmir were also lit up in colours of India's national flag. The Raj Bhavan and other government buildings in Puducherry were bathed in the tricolour too.
