The Jain community protested in Delhi and Mumbai on Sunday against Jharkhand government's decision to turn their pilgrimage site Sammed Shikharji into a tourist spot.

Located in Jharkhand's Parasnath Hills, Shikharji is considered to be one of the most sacred sites for Jains.

The protest against Soren govt's decision has been simmering for a few weeks with the Union Environment Ministry even asking the state govt to consider on priority the suggestions received from the Jain community.
