CWG 2022, Commonwealth Games Day 3 highlights from Birmingham:
After weightlifter Jeremy Lalrinnunga won India's second Gold on Day 3 of the Birmingham Games in the afternoon, Achinta Sheuli clinched the country's third Gold late at night. He won Gold in the 73-kg category. Now India are at fifth position on medals tally. On Day 2, all four weightlifters won medals in all four categories with Mirabai Chanu winning India's first Gold at CWG 2022.
Meanwhile, World Champions Nikhat Zareen stormed into the quarterfinals as she knocked out Mozambique's Helena Ismael Moz in the pre-quarters. Sharath Kamal's men's TT team stormed into the semifinals.
Moreover, the Indian women's cricket team registered their first win at CWG 2022. Women In Blue thrashed their arch-rivals Pakistan T20 cricket by 8 wickets. Opener Smriti Mandhana displayed superb hitting skills and remained unbeaten on 63 runs.
Indian men's hockey team started their campaign on high and thrashed Ghana 11-0 in their 2022 opener.

As Malaysia Weightlifter fails to lift 176 kg in his last attempt, India's star Achinta Sheuli clinches India's third Gold at Commonwealth Games.
CLEAN AND JERK
Achinta SHEULI fails to lift 170kg in the second attempt. But shows his immense strength and mental composure to lift 170kg in his last attempt. With total weight of 313 kg, he his still in Gold medal contention.
Clean and Jerk
Achinta Sheuli lifts 166kg in his first attempt. He is just raising the bar. It is a Game record.
CLean and Jerk event has started. Achinta Sheuli listed himself to lift 165kg in his first clean and jerk series. He will be in action shortly, stay tuned.

He finished 5th in his Heat clocking 25.38 secs; overall finished 8th in Semis.

India storm into Semis of Mixed team event with 3-0 win over South Africa.
Aakarshi wins Match 3, 21-11, 21-16 and books India's place in mixed team semis.
India will now take on the winner of the Scotland vs Singapore match in Semis at 3:30 PM IST
AchintaSHEULI, one of India's medal hopes today, will begin his campaign shortly.
For his first snatch lift, he listed himself at 135 kg, the best in the category. He will be in action after weightlifters with lesser registered weights complete their lifts.

Ghana kept India away from taking a further lead till the first five minutes in the third quarter. However, they can't kept India at bay for much long as Harmanpreet Singh converted a penalty corner to give India 6-0 lead.

After a close game, India upset England 18-15 in Section C to advance to the quarterfinals. India advanced ahead of Malaysia because they had a superior point differential. Tania Choudhury's victory in the women's singles gave India its second victory of the day in lawn bowls.
With Smriti Mandhana's 42-ball 63, the Indian women's cricket team registered their first victory in the ongoing Commonwealth Games. India thrashed Pakistan by 8 wickets in a game reduced to 18 overs due to rain.
Omaima Sohail cleans up Meghana with India only needing 4 runs to win in 42 balls.
Smriti Mandhana blazes towards her fifty with a superb display of power-hitting. India are cruising towards victory as only 12 runs are needed in 54 balls.

India really haven't allowed the Pakistani batters to play with freedom. Deepti Sharma bowls another tight over and the Women in Green are currently scoring at just 5 runs per over.

India's Tania is facing Northern Ireland's Shauna O'Neil in the Round 5 match.
Currently, the Indian is leading by 12-7.

Harmanpreet Kaur-led India is set to meet the Pakistan women's cricket team in their 2nd Group A encounter. The match will begin at 3.30 PM IST.
Both India & Pakistan lost their opening Group A encounters at the Commonwealth Games. While Pakistan never really got going in their run-chase of 145 against Barbados, it was India’s surrender against the Aussies that baffled the world.

India won a gold, 2 silver, and a bronze medal on Day 2 of Birmingham 2022. Here's a look at how the Indian contingent successfully rolled on the 2nd day of the marquee event.
While Mirabai Chanbu clinched gold in the Women's 49kg category, Bindyarani Devi and Sanket Sargar won a silver each in the Women's 55kg and Men's 55kg respectively. Gururaja Poojary settled for a bronze in the Men's 61kg category.
