Days after the alleged gangrape and murder of a school girl in West Bengal's Hanskhali, another horrific gangrape has been reported from Santiniketan.

A tribal girl was allegedly gangraped by a group of around 5 men on April 14. The incident occurred when the victim and her friend were returning from a Charak Mela, or fair, at Adityapur in Birbhum district. The assailants allegedly beat up the victim's friend, and then took her to the bank of a river to rape her.

The victim is being treated at the Bolpur Sub-divisional Hospital, as per news agency PTI. The police are trying to take the girl's help in preparing sketches of the accused.
