Bihar Police arrest 'masterminds' behind fake police station

Bihar Police arrested the alleged 'masterminds' behind a fake police station operating from a hotel in Banka district.

The sham police station had been operating for eight months before the police busted the scam.

The gang of fraudsters posed as government officials and police personnel and are believed to have duped money from hundreds of people.

Earlier, the district police had arrested five gang members while the kingpin of the scam, Bhola Yadav and Alka Kumari, evaded arrest.

The gang allegedly took money to 'help' people obtain benefits from government schemes such as Public Distribution System (PDS), social housing, and obtaining bank passbooks, chequebooks, land registration papers, and so on.
