In an alarming incident, a BJP leader was shot dead in full public view in Haryana's Gurugram on 1 September 2022.

The incident took place inside a clothes showroom in Sadar Bazaar area of the city neighbouring national capital Delhi. BJP leader Sukhbir Khatana reached the Raymond showroom around 3:20 pm.

He was buying some clothes, when five men barged in and opened indiscriminate fire. CCTV cameras reportedly captured the killers who hid their faces behind masks, and towels.

Khatana was rushed to hospital, but was declared dead on arrival. His son reportedly accused one of his relatives and his companions for the murder.
