A double murder and a suicide took place in broad daylight in Bihar's capital city on April 28, according to police. A man named Rajiv allegedly shot his teenage daughter, and his estranged wife near his house in Patna.
After shooting the women, Rajiv allegedly shot and killed himself. The 3 bodies were taken to Patna Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
Manavjit Singh Dhillon, SSP, Patna said, "Information was received around 12:40 pm that a triple murder had taken place. Since it was a serious incident, we arrived here. We took statements of the eyewitnesses. Many people saw the incident. We are examining CCTV footage also. Rajiv Kumar's first wife had died due to natural causes. He had a daughter with his first wife whose name was Sanskriti. After his first wife's death, he married her sister. But they divorced. After divorce, Rajiv wanted his daughter to live with him, but she didn't want to live with him. This was causing problems."

Rajiv lived on rent in the house of a retired police officer named GN Sharma. The landlord said, "The man was Rajiv. His daughter had been living at her maternal grandmother's house for the last few days. She was not going to her father's house because he misbehaved with her. The father wanted his daughter to live with him. This was the dispute. His wife was not living with him. Rajiv used to do nothing. He used to handle the household. His brothers were at good posts in the judicial services."
