While commercial LPG gas cylinders price is increased by Rs 14 in Delhi to Rs 1,769.50 per cylinder in Delhi, the ATF prices were slashed by Rs 1,221/kl for 4th consecutive month

Budget 2024: Hours ahead of the Budget presentation, Oil Marketing companies (OMC) increased the prices of 19-kg commercial LPG gas cylinders with prices increasing by Rs 14 in Delhi, bringing it to Rs 1,769.50 per cylinder from the previous Rs 1,755.50.

Meanwhile, state owned OMCs like Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) have slashed the prices of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) for domestic airlines in Delhi by Rs 1,221/kl.

Commercial LPG price rise

Commercial LPG prices in other major cities have also gone up this month with Kolkata witnessing the highest increase of Rs 18, making it Rs 1,887 from Rs 1,869. In Mumbai prices rose to Rs 1723.50 from Rs 1708.50 (increase of Rs 15) and in Chennai prices increased to Rs 1,937 from Rs 1,924 (increase of Rs 13).

Domestic LPG prices, however, remain unchanged.

State-owned OMCs including Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) revise prices on the first of each month based on the average international price in the previous month.

ATF prices slashed

After the latest revision, the aviation turbine fuel prices for domestic airlines costs Rs 1,00,772.17 per kl in Delhi; Rs 1,09,797.33 per kl in Kolkata; Rs 94,2476 per kl in Mumbai and Rs 1,04,840.19 per kl in Chennai.

Aviation turbine fuel for domestic airlines on international run costs $912.76 per kl in Delhi; $950.88 per kl in Kolkata; $910.84 per kl in Mumbai; and $907.88 per kl in Chennai.

In January too, ATF were cut by 4% and in December the prices were slashed by around 4.6% and in November the prices were slashed by around 6%. The price of jet fuel, makes up for 40% of an airline's operating cost.
