The first edition of SOAR is won by 'Team Horizon' from IIM Bangalore followed by Team JMH representing IMT Ghaziabad. Teams Republic of Restless from IIM Shillong and Horizon from IIFT jointly secured the second runners-up position

Air India Hiring: 7,100 applicants from B Schools apply for SOAR

Air India's SOAR: Air India, over the last one year has received over 25,000 applicants from management post-graduates. About 7,100 applicants from B-Schools have applied for the Spirit of Aviation Reimagined (SOAR) program since its launch in August 2023.

Recruitment Program

The SOAR program aims to introduce fresh talent to the intricacies of the aviation industry and enhance Air India's workforce.

Air India has announced that Team Horizon from IIM Bangalore has won the first edition of SOAR. Team JMH, representing IMT Ghaziabad, became the first runners-up, and teams "Republic of Restless" from IIM Shillong and "Horizon" from IIFT jointly secured the second runners-up position. The competition featured participation from 27 business schools.

5-years transformation journey

Air India has been undergoing a five-year transformation journey under the Tata Group.

Suresh Dutt Tripathi, Chief Human Resources Officer of Air India, highlighted that the airline is actively reimagining its role in the aviation sector.

"Air India is actively reimagining its role in the aviation sector, and our journey to top campuses in the country is more than just a recruitment drive... SOAR is a platform which benefits industry, academia and students simultaneously”, Tripathi said.

This talent acquisition method comes after Air India placed an order for 470 aircraft from Airbus and Boeing whose deliveries are set to begin in November this year.
