Ganesh Chaturthi 2023: Banks to remain shut on 18th, 19th, and 20th September in these cities

Banks will remain closed for a total of three days, spanning 18, 19, and 20 September for Ganesh Chaturthi, according to the holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India

Ganesh Chaturthi, a revered Hindu festival commemorating Lord Ganesha's birth, is widely celebrated in India, particularly in the state of Maharashtra.

In the upcoming year, this ten-day celebration is scheduled to take place from September 19th to September 28th.

Dates of Closure in Different Cities

On 18 September, Banks of Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad will observe a holiday, coinciding with the Varasiddhi Vinayaka Vrata.

The main event, Ganesh Chaturthi, falls on 19 September, resulting in bank closures in Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bhubaneswar, Mumbai, Nagpur, and Panaji. This day is also observed as Samvatsari (Chaturthi Paksha).

Finally, on 20 September, residents of Bhubaneswar and Panaji will celebrate the second day of Ganesh Chaturthi, along with the Nuakhai festival, leading to the closure of banks in these cities.
