A host of Union Ministers spoke to Vikram Chandra in the past year about the growth prospects if their respective sectors and how they will have a positive impact on the country's economy. They also highlighted the steps taken by their ministries so far to put Indian on the fast track to growth.

Recapping 2023: How the Khalistan movement led to a diplomatic standoff involving India

There were some diplomatic hiccups in 2023 after Khalistan supporters vandalised Indian missions and embassies in the US, the UK, Canada and Australia. Ties between Canada and India soured after Justin Trudeau said that there were 'credible allegations' of Indian involvement in the murder of Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar on Canadian soil. Wion travelled to London to show how the Indian High Commission was targeted by Khalistanis and also spoke Vikram Doraiswami, the Indian High Commssioner to the UK

Recapping 2023: India's hits and misses in sports

The Men in Blue might have lost the ODI World Cup but there was lots to cheer for the supporters of Indian sports. India won a record number of medals at the Asian Games 2023 that included the a gold medal in women's cricket. Neeraj Chopra continued to be India's golden boy. Chess prodigy Praggnanandhaa was second only to World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen at the Chess World Cup.

2023: The year of India's soft power

Indian entertainers ruled the roost this year globally. 'Naatu Naatu' had Hollywood dancing as it won the Golden Globes and the Oscars. 'The Elephant Whisperers' establishing that India was not just about song and dance as the short documentary bagged the Oscars. And finally, Vir Das put Indian comedy on the international stage after winning the Emmys for his Netflix stand-up special 'Vir Das: Landing'.
