'And Just Like That', reboot of 'Sex and the City' finally has a release timeline

And just like that, it's time to grab your cosmos! Fans finally have the tentative release date for the much-anticipated 'Sex and the City' reboot, titled “and just like that”.

Earlier in January, actor Sarah Jessica Parker announced that an official 'Sex and the City' revival was on the cards, and after spotting the cast shooting all across New York City, HBO released a 5-second teaser last month that left the fans wanting more. HBO Max has now confirmed that the reboot 'And Just Like That', will premiere in December.

Sarah Jessica Parker confirmed the news from the streets of Manhattan. In a social media post, she said, “Hello from New York City, Fifth Avenue, shooting, as we speak, the next chapter of Sex and the City...with some beloved friends".

The sequel, “And Just Like That” will follow Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda once again through their lives in New York City, this time navigating love and friendships in their 50s. Actor Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha in the original case, will not be a part of this project.

The original series aired on HBO from 1998 to 2004, spanning 94 episodes over six seasons. It followed the journey of four best friends Carrie Bradshaw played by Sarah Jessica Parker, Miranda Hobbs played by Cynthia Nixon, Samantha Jones portrayed by Kim Cattrall, and Charlotte York played Kristin Davis living in New York City. Over the years, 'Sex and the City' earned 54 Emmy nominations, of which it won seven, and 24 Golden Globe nods, of which it won eight.

The show also led to two box-office hit movies. 2008’s Sex and the City grossed over $415 million worldwide. Despite being slammed by critics, 2010’s Sex and the City 2 brought in $294 million worldwide.
