Coldplay has revealed their retirement plans from music. In a recent interview, band’s frontman Chris Martin shared that the band would retire after releasing their 12th studio album. He said that they are only going to do 12 proper albums and that’s real.

Martin further said that the limit would mean very high quality control in their music and emphasised that the 12-album limit was not some random decision. He credited some of the biggest musical influences for inspiring their decision and cited examples of Beatles and Bob Marley.

The revelation from the globally acclaimed band comes as fans await the release of their 10th studio album on October 4, 2024.

Meanwhile, Coldplay is on a world tour to support their upcoming album. They have just finished the European leg and are now headed to Australia and New Zealand. The band will be performing in Asia next month.
