Kanye West apologises over George Floyd remark, says 'I know how it feels to have a knee on my neck now'

Rapper Kanye West apologised for his insensitive remarks on George Floyd after losing a billion-dollar deal with Adidas over anti-Semitic comments. He had falsely claimed that George Floyd had died due to a drug overdose rather than the reality which saw a Minneapolis police officer suffocating him by placing a knee on his neck.

Kanye had faced severe backlash for his comments and Floyd's daughter sued the rapper for $250 million for the defamatory remark.

Now, companies like Adidas, Balenciaga, and Vogue have cut ties with the rapper following his anti-semitic comments. Kanye West has equated this experience with Floyd's 2020 death under the hands of Officer Derek Chauvin.

Speaking with the paparazzi, Kanye said that when he sees that video as a black person, it hurts his feelings, and he knows that police does attack and America is generally racist.

'And I understand that when we got to say Black Lives Matter, that the idea of it made us feel good together as a people, right?,’ he said.

He added that when he questioned the death of George Floyd, it hurt his people and he wants to apologize. He said God has shown him what Adidas and media is doing and he knows how it feels to have a knee on his neck now.

‘Thank you God for humbling me and letting me know how it really felt. Because how could the richest black men ever be humbled other than to be made to not be a billionaire in front of everyone off of one comment,' Kanye said.

This video of Kanye West speaking to the paparazzi has gone viral on Twitter.
