American rapper Lizzo has clarified on her viral Instagram post which came a day after her appearance at Democratic campaign event for Joe Biden. The singer, who is often seen as the poster girl for self-love and body positivity, had posted that she is tired of being targeted for her appearance and character.

Lizzo clarifies ‘I Quit’ post

The US singer and songwriter cleared the air around her previous statement in which she said that she is getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in her life and on the internet. In her latest Instagram video, the singer said, “I want to make this video because I just need to clarify — when I say I quit, I mean I quit giving any negative energy attention. What I’m not going to quit is the joy of my life which is making music, which is connecting with people because I know I’m not alone.”

The Grammy award winner, who is seen as an inspiration by many added, “If I can just give one person the inspiration or the motivation to stand up for themselves and say they quit letting negative people win, negative comments win, then I’ve done even more than I could’ve hoped for.” The singer also expressed gratitude towards her loyal fans as she acknowledged the love received from her fans.

Lizzo’s legal troubles

Lizzo’s clarification has come as a sigh of relief for her fans, especially after her ‘I Quit’ post. Her latest statement also comes at a time when the singer is facing a legal battle where three of her former background dancers have sued her for sexual harassment. The singer is facing allegations of abuse, harassment, discrimination and multiple workplace violations.
