Oscars 2024: Jimmy Kimmel to return as host for the fourth time

American television host and comedian Jimmy Kimmel will be hosting the prestigious Oscars 2024 ceremony on March 10. He will return as host for the second consecutive year and fourth time overall.

He had previously hosted the show in 2017, 2018 and 2023. Kimmel will sit alongside four-peaters such as Whoopi Goldberg and Kacl Lemmon.

The 95th Academy Awards was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. The ceremony was special as the Indian film 'RRR' and documentary 'The Elephant Whisperers' won the award.

Besides him, Emmy nominee Molly McNearney will be back as an executive producer for the second time in a row.

In a statement, Kimmel said, ‘I always dreamed of hosting the Oscars exactly four times, while McNearney said, ‘especially honored to be part of the Oscars team this year.’

Academy CEO Bill Kramer and President said, ‘We are thrilled about Jimmy returning to host and Molly [McNearney] returning as executive producer for the Oscars. They share our love of movies and our commitment to producing a dynamic and entertaining show for our global audience. We are deeply grateful to Jimmy, Molly and their teams for their incredible creativity and partnership and for going on this ride with us again.’

The only people to host the Academy Awards more times are Johnny Carson (5), Billy Crystal (9) and Bob Hope (11).

The Oscars 2024 show could see nominations from 'Barbie' and 'Oppenheimer, apart from 'American Fiction,' 'Killers of the Flower Moon,' 'Maestro' and 'Poor Things'.

The 96th Academy Awards will air live on ABC from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
