Up, up and out of the closet!

DC fans know that Superman aka Clark Kent fell for reporter Lois Lane and became insanely besotted with his lady love. And DC’s current Superman — Jon Kent, son of Clark Kent — is also following in his father's footsteps.

Like his father, Jon Kent has fallen for a reporter, his college friend Jay Nakamura, a male reporter in the comic series.

The new "Superman" series, the Man of Steel introduces Jonathan Kent as a bisexual, and fans will get a glimpse of their queer relationship in the fifth issue of the DC comic series "Superman: Son of Kal-El" releasing on Nov 9.

A photo from the upcoming comic book shows Superman and Nakamura sharing a kiss, sitting together atop a building. In a statement, DC Comics said, "Following a scene where Superman mentally and physically burns out from trying to save everyone that he can, Jay is there to care for the Man of Steel."

Tom Taylor is the writer of the “Superman: Son of Kal-El #5,” and John Timms is the artist.

Classic comic franchises have increasingly made efforts to be more LGBTQ-inclusive. The news comes a few months after a version of Marvel’s Captain America made headlines by coming out as gay. The new character, Aaron Fischer, represents the first LGBTQ character to pick up Cap’s shield in the comic’s 80-year history.
