      Mexican actress Karla Souza has won the International Emmy for Best Actress for her performance in ‘Dive’. Indian actor Shefali Shah was nominated alongside Karla for her performance in ‘Delhi Crime’.

      The other nominees in the category were Connie Nielsen in the Danish project ‘The Dreamer – Becoming Karen Blixen’ and UK's Billie Piper in ‘I Hate Suzie Too’.

      The official X (formerly Twitter) of International Emmy Awards 2023 announced the winner with a photo of Karla. They wrote, ‘The International Emmy for Best Performance by an Actress goes to "Karla Souza in La Cada [Dive]” produced by Madam / Filmadora / Infinity Hill / Amazon (sic).’

      Shefali was nominated for her portrayal of DCP Vartika Chaturvedi in the second installment of the Netflix series, 'Delhi Crime'.

      For the event, Shefali donned a red saree with gold details.

      The first season of the show, which was based on the 2012 Delhi gang rape, won Best Drama Series at the International Emmy Awards in 2020.

      Besides Shefali Shah, other Indian personalities who were nominated for the prestigious International Emmy award this year included Jim Sarbh for ‘Rocket Boys’ Season 2 and Vir Das, for his Netflix special, 'Landing.'

      Earlier, speaking to India Today, Shefali shared that she is 'obsessive' when it comes to her work.

      Shefali Shah’s breakthrough role was opposite Manoj Bajpayee in the 1998 film ‘Satya’. She is also known for her work in ‘Monsoon Wedding’, ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’, ‘Darlings’ and other films.

      Her TV and web credits include ‘Tara’, ‘Banegi Apni Baat’ and ‘Humans’.

      Shefali was recently seen in the film ‘Three Of Us’.
