'Koffee with Karan 8': KJo shares he was shy as he narrated kissing scene to Dharmendra

The second episode of ‘Koffee with Karan 8’ dropped on Thursday with Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol as guests. On the show, the filmmaker opened up on working with Dharmendra.

Karan, who worked with the veteran actor in ‘Rocky Aur Raani Kii Prem Kahaani’, said that he was “awkward” when he narrated the kissing scene with Shabana Azmi. KJo shared, “When I narrated it to him, I was a bit shy and awkward. Because he is such a senior actor. I have so much love and respect for him.” The filmmaker said that Dharmendra answered plainly and revealed, “I took a beat and he said ‘Toh problem kya hai?’ (so what is the problem?). He said ‘Maine bahut kia hai’ (I have done this many times). I said acha theek hai.”
Karan added, “everybody else around it had made a bigger deal out of it than them because they are true artists.”

Talking about the scene, Bobby said that they keep joking that Papa can kiss on screen and people will say he is so cute. Bobby also appreciated his father’s performance and said that if there was some other actor playing his Dad’s role, it wouldn’t have worked.

When Karan asked Sunny how he reacted to the kiss, the 'Gadar 2' actor said, “I said my Dad can do whatever he likes and he gets away with it.”

The brothers also came as guests for season 1 of the popular chat show.

Work front
On the work front, Sunny Deol was last seen in ‘Gadar 2’ which performed well at the box office and earned Rs 691.08 crore globally as per Bollywood Hungama. He will next be seen in Vivek Chauhan directorial ‘Baap:. While Bobby is all set for ‘Animal’ with Ranbir Kapoor, which is slated for December 2023 release.
