Konkona Sensharma reveals not watching Ranbir Kapoor's Animal: "I haven't been drawn to the film."

Actor Konkona Sensharma has revealed that she has not watched the Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Animal. The actor, who most recently appeared in the Netflix series 'Killer Soup', said that she's not the target audience for the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial.

Konkona Sensharma on 'Animal'

Konkona recently went candid and shared her thoughts on SRV's 'Animal', which has set tongues wagging. Speaking to ANI, the actor said, "From what I understand, and I may be mistaken, I've not watched 'Animal' because I don't feel it's my kind of film. I haven't been drawn to the film, even from the reviews and things. Also, I'm aware of his previous work, and he stands by that work, the director, and where certain violence has been made acceptable in relationships, and that is not what I stand for. Now, if it's done very well, I don't mind watching it."

She further added, "But that's not what I've heard. And I don't think I'm the target audience anyway. Millions of people are watching it, so it's doing very well, and they don't need me."

Konkona on violence in the film

While Konkona believes the film is not for her, she also defended the filmmaker's creative liberty in shaping the film. Speaking about the violence in the film, she said, "I don't have a problem with depicting violence on screen as long as there is a very good reason for it. Even sex. I don't have a problem with viewing sex, but I don't want it to be there just for the sake of it. I don't want to see violence just for the sake of it."

Despite courting its share of controversies, Animal went on to enjoy a successful run at the ticket counter, raking in over Rs 500 crore. The film also starred Anil Kapoor, Tripti Dimri, and Bobby Deol in pivotal roles.
