The world’s largest India Day Parade in New York City commenced on August 20 and it witnessed a huge number of people and marching groups comprising members of the Indian-American community.

Actors Jacqueline Fernandez and Samantha Ruth Prabhu were also part of the parade organised by the Federation of India Association.

Samantha shared the stage with spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. She began her speech by saying 'Jai Hind' and went on to speak about the rich culture of India.

She also thanked the audience in the US for supporting her films since the start of her career and requested them to watch 'Kushi' on September 1.

Meanwhile, Jacqueline Fernandez was seen waving the Indian tricolour.

Several members of the Indian diaspora supported the event, including spiritual Guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. Many were seen holding the Indian tricolour. Reports also reveal that the parade saw performers dancing and playing drums during the parade.

This year’s tagline was 'Mission Life', the same name as a mass movement launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On the work front, Samantha Ruth Prabhu will be seen in ‘Kushi’ with Vijay Deverakonda. The film will release in theatres on September 1.

Jacqueline Fernandez will be next seen in ‘Fateh’ alongside Sonu Sood. She also has ‘Crakk’ with Vidyut Jammwal and Arjun Rampal in her kitty.
