    Allu Arjun has proven his pan-India superstar prowess as his upcoming film ‘Pushpa: The rule’ sets a new record even ahead of its release. Reports have surfaced that the makers of Allu Arjun starrer have sold the OTT rights of the film for a whopping amount.

    OTT rights sold to Netflix: Report

    The second part of the blockbuster, ‘Pushpa: The Rise’, has already minted more than ₹ 500 crore ahead of its release. The makers have reportedly closed a deal of ₹ 275 crore with OTT platform Netflix for the film’s streaming rights. This marks the largest-ever OTT deal for a Telugu film and across all languages. Besides, the amount can go upto ₹300 crore depending on film’s theatrical returns.

    The film has surpassed previous record holder ‘RRR’ by a large margin. SS Rajamouli’s film had sold its digital rights for ₹ 170 crore.

    Recently, reports also emerged that Anil Thadani has bought the North India Distribution rights of the film for ₹200 crore which also set a new record. Allu Arjun starrer first installment had surprised everyone as it earned more than 100 crore rupees in Hindi box office.

    About ‘Pushpa: The Rule’

    Directed by Sukumar, the film will take off from where it left off in the first part. After the massive success of ‘Pushpa: The Rise’, Allu Arjun is back with Sukumar for its sequel. Besides Allu and Rashmika, Jagapathi Babu, Fahadh Faasil, Prakash Raj, Sunil and Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari will be seen in key roles. There are also reports that Sanjay Dutt and Samantha Ruth Prabhu will be seen in cameo roles. ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ is scheduled to hit theatres on August 15, 2024.
