Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam to collaborate after 35 years; 'Here we go again!' says the actor

Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan surprised his fans as he announced his collaboration with filmmaker Mani Ratnam after a gap of 35 years. He shared the official statement on his Twitter page along with a motion video on Sunday (Nov. 6). The 'Vikram' actor wrote, 'Here we go again! #KH234,' and he called this film 'a next step in his journey.'

The film is expected to release in theatres in 2024. It will be jointly produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies, Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International, and Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies. The music of the movie will be composed by the music maestro AR Rahman.

The news of this collaboration has taken the internet by storm and fans are expressing their excitement on social media. One Twitter user wrote, 'This is going to be huge! All the best Kamal sir!,' while another commented, 'Kerala Fans Also Waiting The Classic Combo Kamal Sir And Mani Sir.'

For the unversed, Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam have worked together in the critically-acclaimed 'Nayakan', which was released in 1987.

On the work front, Kamal Haasan is currently busy shooting for his forthcoming film 'Indian 2', while Mani Ratnam is currently basking in the success of his latest release 'Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1'.
