<p>"Have you ever seen those Lok Sabha sessions? Our politicians fight as if they are nursery kids... But something that we should learn from Dr Manmohan Singh ji is that he never responded back in the same manner," he added.</p>
<p>Singh, who was credited with steering India through significant economic reforms, passed away at the age of 92. Dosanjh also quoted a line often said by Singh, emphasizing the power of silence.</p>
<p>"He would often say 'Hazaaron jawabon se meri khamoshi acchi, na jaane kitne sawalon ki aabroo dhak leti hai' ('My silence is better than a thousand answers, it has saved the grace of many questions') and it is something the youth needs to learn from him, even I do. <p>Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone starrer "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" is set to re-release in theatres on January 3, 2025.</p>
<p>Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film was produced under Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and also featured Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin. The film had its original release on May 31, 2013.</p>
<p>According to a press release, "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani", which went on to have a great box office in 2013, will be released on January 3 across 140 PVR INOX Cinemas in 46 cities.</p>

<p>Top Telugu actor Allu Arjun, an accused in the case booked over the death of a woman in a stampede here during the premiere of his latest film 'Pushpa-2', appeared through a video conference before a local court on Friday.</p>
<p>Allu Arjun, who was named as accused no 11, also filed a regular bail petition in the court which may come up for hearing on December 30.</p>
<p>The actor, who was arrested on December 13 in connection with the incident, was produced before the Nampally court, which remanded him to a 14-day judicial custody which ended today. He was to present himself before the court as part of further proceedings and he appeared through video conference.</p>
<p>Shortly after Allu Arjun was shifted to jail, the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail for four weeks (from December 13) and he was released from the jail on December 14.</p>
<p>A 35-year-old woman died and her eight-year-old son was injured on December 4 during a stampede-like situation at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad when fans jostled to have a glimpse of the actor at the premiere of the &lsquo;Pushpa 2&rsquo; movie.</p>
<p>Following the incident, the city police registered a case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under different sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Chikkadpally police station based on the complaint lodged by the deceased woman&rsquo;s family.</p>

<p>Varun Dhawan-starrer "Baby John" has raised Rs 11.25 crore in net box office collections on the first day of its release, the makers said on Thursday.</p>
<p>Directed by Kalees, the Hindi action film stars Dhawan in the dual roles of police inspector Satya Verma and John, his alter ego. It hit the screens on Wednesday.</p>
<p>"Baby John" is presented by Jio Studios in association with Atlee and Cine1 Studios and produced by A for Apple Studios and Murad Khetani's Cine1 Studios.</p>
<p>"'Baby John', directed by Kalees, opened to an impressive INR 11.25 crore nett on Day 1 in India, marking it as the biggest opener for a non-franchise film post-pandemic," the makers said in a statement.</p>
<p>The movie is the Hindi remake of the 2016 Tamil film "Theri", directed by Atlee and starring Vijay in the lead.</p>

<p>A crucial meeting between the Telangana government and Telugu film industry representatives is expected to be held on Thursday to thaw the speculated strained ties between the ruling dispensation and Tinseltown following the arrest of top actor Allu Arjun.</p>
<p>The 42-year-old star was arrested recently in connection with the stampede at a theatre here screening his latest movie "Pushpa: The Rule" which resulted in the death of a woman on December 4.</p>
<p>Telangana State Film Development Corporation (FDC) chairman and leading producer Dil Raju on Wednesday said a delegation of film personalities would call on state Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy today to foster "healthy relations" between the government and the industry.</p>
<p>The meeting assumes significance amid Cinematography minister Komatireddi Venkat Reddy's statement that the state government, in future, may consider ticket price hikes only for certain categories such as films made on history, freedom struggle or anti-drugs or message-oriented.</p>
<p>The state government's stand came in the wake of the death of a 35-year-old woman at Sandhya Theatre here due to suffocation where the 'Pushpa 2' movie was screened on December 4.</p>
<p>The minister&rsquo;s statement, if really implemented, will have a huge impact on the high budget films such as Ram Charan&rsquo;s "Game Changer", Nandamuri Balakrishna's "Daaku Maharaj" and Venkatesh&rsquo;s "Sankranthiki Vasthunnam" which are slated for release during Sankranti next year.</p>
<p>Directed by popular Director S Shankar, Game Changer was produced by Dil Raju. The film is reportedly made with a budget of nearly Rs 400 crore.</p>
<p>Though the Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce welcomed the government's decision that it will not allow benefit shows of movies in the state and also enhanced ticket prices will be done on a case-to-case basis, the move may not go down well with the production houses as they usually look to reap the benefits during the early day of the film release.</p>

<p>Hours after Reddy slammed the actor for holding a roadshow and waving to the crowds at the theatre, without referring to anyone, the 'Pushpa' star refuted the allegations, saying it was not a procession or a roadshow.</p>
<p>Allu Arjun was arrested by the city police in connection with the death of the woman on December 13.</p>
<p>The Telangana High Court granted him a four-week interim bail on the same day and he was released from a prison here on December 14 morning.</p>

<p>On Christmas Eve, he and his girlfriend were caught in an underwater current while swimming, but they were saved by an IPS officer and his IRS wife.</p>
<p>The incident took place around 6 pm on December 24 while they were enjoying a swim in the open sea, a pastime Allahbadia has cherished since childhood. <br><br></p>

<p><br><br><br><br>"A casual, fun dip in the waves was interrupted by an underwater current that toppled both of us. The next thing we knew, we were struggling to stay afloat," he wrote in an Instagram post.</p>

<p>Despite their swimming experience, the couple found themselves struggling against the strong current. After nearly 10 minutes of trying to stay above water, they called for help. A family consisting of an IPS officer and his IRS wife swiftly came to their rescue and pulled them to safety.</p>
<p>Allahbadia explained that although he had encountered underwater currents before, this was the first time he had faced such a challenge with someone else. "It's easy to swim out of one alone. It's very hard to pull someone out with you," he shared.</p>
<p>The 31-year-old further recounted the harrowing experience, saying, "There was a point where I swallowed a lot of water and started fading away. That's when I decided to shout for help. Deep gratitude to the family...who saved us both. This experience left us feeling both blank as well as grateful. We felt the protection of God throughout the incident."</p>
<p>Reflecting on the ordeal, Allahbadia described it as a profound moment that changed his outlook on life. He acknowledged the near-death experience, calling it a brush with the "life-death barrier," and ended his post with gratitude, adding, "We lived for a reason."</p>

<p>Also starring Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty, the follow-up is backed by Dutta alongside Bhushan Kumar of T-Series.</p>

<p>According to the makers, the film is set against a backdrop of "patriotism and courage" and promises to deliver "unparalleled action, gripping drama, and emotional depth".</p>
<p>Singh previously helmed films like "Kesari", "Punjab 1984", "Jatt &amp; Juliet" and "Dil Bole Hadippa!".</p>

<p>Popular Kannada TV actor Sampath J Ram allegedly died by suicide at his Nelamangala residence on April 22. Lack of work opportunities reportedly led to this decision.</p>
<p>His body was taken to a private hospital in Nelamangala and then for the final rites to his hometown of NR Pura.</p>

<p>In an interview with GQ UK, Garfield, 41, explained, "I&rsquo;m gonna disappoint you. Yeah, no. But I know no one&rsquo;s gonna trust anything I say from now on."</p>

<p>Trade expert Girish Wankhede said Salman Khan&rsquo;s &ldquo;Sikandar&rdquo; might set the tone for an eventful year, which will also see Aamir Khan&rsquo;s &ldquo;Sitaare Zameen Par&rdquo; arriving in theatres by mid-2025.</p>

<p>As the curtain closes on a relatively underwhelming 2024, trade experts and film exhibitors are pinning hopes on Salman Khan&rsquo;s highly anticipated film &ldquo;Sikandar,&rdquo; and a plethora of franchise offerings like &ldquo;War 2&rdquo;, &ldquo;Raid 2&rdquo;, and &ldquo;Housefull 5&rdquo;, which they believe will reignite audience interest at the box office.</p>
<p>The film landscape for 2025 is loaded with diverse content but expectations are high from Salman&rsquo;s &ldquo;Sikandar&rdquo;, which is set to release on the occasion of Eid in March.</p>
<p>Among the films heading into theatres are Kangana Ranaut's political drama &ldquo;Emergency&rdquo;, Akshay Kumar&rsquo;s war film &ldquo;Sky Force&rdquo;, Shahid Kapoor&rsquo;s action-packed thriller &ldquo;Deva&rdquo; and Vicky Kaushal-starrer historical drama &ldquo;Chhaava,&rdquo; which chronicles the life of Maratha king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.</p>
<p>The second half of 2025 has a remarkable lineup of films like the sequel to popular titles such as &ldquo;Jolly LLB 3&rdquo;, &ldquo;Raid 2&rdquo;, &ldquo;Housefull 5&rdquo;, &ldquo;War 2&rdquo;, &ldquo;Baaghi 4&rdquo;, &ldquo;De De Pyaar De&rdquo;, and &ldquo;Son of Sardaar 2&rdquo;.</p>
<p>In addition to this, there are other releases such as Varun Dhawan&rsquo;s romantic-comedy movie with father David Dhawan, Shahid Kapoor&rsquo;s actioner which is helmed by Vishal Bhardwaj, a horror-thriller featuring Kajol, &ldquo;Dil Ka Darwaaza Khol Na Darling!&rdquo; starring Jaya Bachchan, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Wamiqa Gabbi and Swanand Kirkire, &ldquo;Alpha&rdquo;, Yash Raj Films' next Spy Universe movie starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, and Aamir&rsquo;s &ldquo;Sitaare Zameen Par&rdquo;.</p>
<p>Distributor-exhibitor Akshay Rathi, who owns theatres in Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh, said movies such as &ldquo;Sikandar&rdquo;, &ldquo;Sky Force&rdquo;, &ldquo;Chhaava&rdquo;, &ldquo;Raid 2&rdquo;, &ldquo;De De Pyaar De 2&rdquo;, &ldquo;Housefull 5&rdquo;, and &ldquo;Alpha&rdquo; have the potential to break box office records.</p>
<p>"If you compare the releases with 2024, which has been held together by two films &ndash; &lsquo;Pushpa 2&rsquo; and &lsquo;Stree 2&rsquo;, there were other movies like &lsquo;Singham Again&rsquo;, and &lsquo;Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3&rsquo; that did well.</p>
<p>"We need one blockbuster a month to sustain the exhibition infrastructure. We cannot rely on three to four blockbusters. We need that to happen with a lot more consistency. A higher number of films have the potential to become mega-blockbusters in 2025,&rdquo; Rathi told PTI.</p>
<p>In 2024 &ldquo;Stree 2&rdquo; was the biggest and only hit of the year earning over Rs 500 crores, besides a handful of other releases such as &ldquo;Shaitaan&rdquo;, &ldquo;Article 370&rdquo;, &ldquo;Laapataa Ladies&rdquo;, &ldquo;Munjya&rdquo;, &ldquo;Singham Again&rdquo;, and &ldquo;Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3&rdquo; did decent business.</p>
<p>According to Nitin Datar, President of the Cinema Owners and Exhibitors Association of India, and Amit Sharma, MD of Miraj Entertainment Limited, the 2025 lineup looks promising.</p>
<p>"It's tough to guess now which film will do well because publicity has not started. However, 2025 looks good and I&rsquo;m looking forward to the release of &lsquo;Sikandar&rsquo;, &lsquo;Housefull 5&rsquo;, &lsquo;Jolly LLB 3&rsquo;, &lsquo;Emergency&rsquo;, and &lsquo;Chhaava&rsquo;. The rest of the films will be slow starters but may pick up,&rdquo; Datar told PTI.</p>
<p>"In terms of box office collection 2024 was the worst year, things look brighter compared to last year as there are films like &lsquo;War 2&rsquo;, &lsquo;Jolly LLB 3&rsquo;, &lsquo;Housefull 5&rsquo;, &lsquo;Son of Sardaar 2&rsquo;, &lsquo;Raid 2&rsquo;, &lsquo;Jaat&rsquo;, &lsquo;Sky Force&rsquo;, &lsquo;Sikandar&rsquo;. Overall Hindi films in 2025 should do a 15 to 20 percent better collection than in 2024,&rdquo; Sharma told PTI.</p>
<p>Taran Adarsh said there's an &ldquo;overdose&rdquo; of franchise films. He acknowledged the risk of audience fatigue but is hopeful that each film will attain commercial success.</p>
<p>"It&rsquo;s going to be a strong 2025, there&rsquo;s a good line-up of movies. There&rsquo;s going to be an overdose of franchises and sequels. Let&rsquo;s place our bets on every film that comes in,&rdquo; Adarsh told PTI.</p>

<p>"With everything being available on digital medium, people have seen it and people are not interested in seeing the new version, we&rsquo;ve seen this in the case of &lsquo;Baby John&rsquo; or &lsquo;Sarfira&rsquo;. We need to implement the lessons learnt.&rdquo;</p>
