Nayanthara-Vignesh surrogacy row: Hospital may have breached rules, probe report expected soon

Actor Nayanthara and filmmaker Vignesh Shivan have been embroiled in a controversy ever since they announced the birth of their twin sons through surrogacy. Tamil Nadu government, which suspects that surrogacy laws were flouted, has constituted a four-member panel to investigate the matter. Now, as per a News18 report, the panel has found that the hospital authorities indeed did breach norms.

According to sources, the administration was found guilty of violating surrogacy regulations after asking the private hospital’s doctors for an explanation. The report has not yet been made public yet.

As per reports, Tamil Nadu health minister MA Subramanian has claimed that probe report will be released later on October 26.

In a media interaction at Kilpakkam Government Hospital in Chennai, Subramanian said that the hospital administration is likely to face legal action because their justifications were deemed unsatisfactory.

Earlier, Nayanthara and Vignesh submitted an affidavit to the TN health department claiming they registered their marriage six years ago and the surrogate parent of the twins is a relative, who is a resident of the United Arab Emirates.

Nayanthara and Vignesh overjoyed after the birth of their twins. On Diwali, the couple posted a video featuring their newborns and wished their fans. 'Wishing all you lovely people only happiness and peace amidst all the hurdles that life keeps against you. Pray Hard, love hard! Love is all we can have for each and everyone. Love is all that will make this life beautiful and prosperous,' they wrote in the caption.
