Megastar Rajinikanth praised the Indian team for their victory against New Zealand in the World Cup semi-final match and said that he is sure that Men in Blue will lift the World Cup 2023 trophy.

Superstar Rajinikanth, who watched the World Cup semi-final match between India and New Zealand on November 15, expressed his confidence that India will win this year.

Rajinikanth and his wife Latha arrived in Chennai on November 16 and spoke to the media stationed outside the airport.

He said, ‘At first, I felt nervous. Later, when wickets kept falling, it went well. During that one and a half hours, I was quite nervous. But I am 100% sure the (World) Cup is ours.’

India is through to the World Cup finals after beating New Zealand by 70 runs. The Men in Blue will play against Australia at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad on November 19.

Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani, Venkatesh, Madhuri Dixit and Ranbir Kapoor were among many other celebrities who watched the semi-final match at the stadium and cheered loudly for Team India.

After India won the World Cup semi-final, celebrities such as Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan took to social media to congratulate Virat Kohli and the team for their exceptional performance.

ON THE WORK FRONT FOR RAJINIKANTH

Superstar Rajinikanth was last seen in director Nelson Dilipkumar’s ‘Jailer’, which was one of the biggest hits of 2023. The actor has completed a schedule of his upcoming film, ‘Thailavar 170’, helmed by TJ Gnanavel of ‘Jai Bhim’ fame.

Rajinikanth will play an extended cameo in his daughter Aishwarya’s upcoming film, ‘Lal Salaam’. The film will be released in theatres during Pongal 2024. He also has Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘Thalaivar 171’ in the pipeline.
