The Covid-19 pandemic hit the entertainment industry hard, with cinemas shut for over two years and on-set filming being suspended. Several celebrities reached out to help the on-set workers who lost their jobs due to the lockdown.

In a new interview with The Hindustan Times, Ronit Roy recently said, that a lot of injustice was meted out to several people working in showbiz industry, who don't come from affluent backgrounds.

Annoyed over the unfair wage practices, he said, many A-list actors doubled their fees during the pandemic, but they slashed salaries of their staff who needed the money more than them.

Ronit minced no words, lashing out at industry biggies saying, that when they didn't have money, they should not have invested in big projects.

He added that when work came to a standstill last year, he used all his savings to help the families of his 125 employees. Ronit said, only Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Karan Johar stood by him during his financial crisis, while many others said, "Covid ke baad dekhenge".

Ronit Roy will be seen next in 'Shamshera', alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 18, 2022. He will also be seen in 'Liger' with Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday.
