Carlos Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic to win the Wimbledon men’s final on July 16. Alcaraz is the first player outside of the sport’s ‘big four’ - Djokovic, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Andy Murray to win title since 2002.

With Alcaraz winning the tennis tournament, several celebrities took to social media and lauded the player. Kareena Kapoor Khan shared a picture of Alcaraz post the win and wrote, ‘A superstar is born. What a play’.

Ayushmann Khurrana tweeted, ‘Make way for this young legend. This combo of talent and temperament at 20 is so rare.’

Sidharth Malhotra also shared Alcaraz’s picture with clapping hands emoji.

Angad Bedi dropped a special post and wrote, ‘Grass got a new champion @carlitosalcarazz you were up against one of the greatest ever @djokernole cherish the moment.. may you be on your way to greatness too.. but djoko will come back for you.. the heat is now on you son. #wimbledon.’

Malaika Arora also dropped an appreciation post for Carlos Alcaraz.

Actor Sonam Kapoor and her husband Anand Ahuja watched the Wimbledon finals live at the stadium.

Several Hollywood stars like Tom Hiddleston, Andrew Garfield, and Ariana Grande also attended the event.
