Delhi airport operator DIAL said in a post on X shortly after 10 am that flight operations are still impacted due to dense fog.
"Our on-ground officials are working closely with all stakeholders to assist passengers and provide necessary support across Terminals," DIAL said.
The official said as of now, 61 cancellations and 5 diversions have been reported at the airport. Over 250 flights were delayed, he added.
"Low visibility (below minima), due to dense fog, has severely impacted operations at Delhi and other airports across northern India, which is unfortunately beyond our control," IndiGo said in a statement.
As operations are adjusted to prevailing weather conditions, some flights may experience delays, while a few others may be proactively cancelled during the day to prioritise safety and minimise extended waiting at the airport, the airline said in a statement.
IndiGo, however, did not say how many of its flights were cancelled and how many were delayed. The airline said its teams are "closely monitoring" the situation and coordinating with Delhi airport.
IndiGo also said it issued advisories to its customers and "proactively" informing them, to minimise inconvenience.
Delhi airport is the country's busiest airport and handles around 1,300 flight movements daily.

Rijiju said the political leaders wish each other in public despite political fights, which are separate issues, and leaders criticise each other in different ways.
"We oppose each other differently. We never think of killing each other, nor do we talk about that. What kind of mentality is this? What kind of practice is this where some people are threatening to kill political rivals openly?" he posed.
Rijiju said Modi is the prime minister of 140 crore people, the prime minister of the largest democracy in the world.
"The whole world respects PM Modi, the whole of India respects PM Modi. But if some people in the opposition threaten to kill the prime minister, it is most unfortunate and tragic. It will not end by just condemning the incident."

The Delhi High Court, on December 10, questioned the central government for not taking timely action to check the crisis caused by IndiGo flight cancellations and asked why the situation was allowed to precipitate, with lakhs of passengers stranded and other airlines charging hefty fares. It was hearing a PIL seeking directions to the Centre to provide support and refunds to passengers affected by the cancellation of hundreds of flights by IndiGo.
On Monday, a bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant and justices Joymalya Bagchi and Vipul M Pamcholi took note of the submissions of petitioner Narendra Mishra that the plea needed a hearing at the top court and said the high court is already seized of another similar PIL.
The bench asked Mishra to approach the high court and granted him the liberty to come again if grievances are not addressed.
Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, appearing for IndiGo, said the DGCA has appointed an expert committee to look into flight cancellations and consequent problems faced by the flyers.
&ldquo;It is pointed out that a petition is pending before the Delhi High Court. It is stated that the DGCA has formed an expert committee dated December 5 &hellip;. All the issues raised herein are pending before the Delhi High Court. The petitioner is permitted to join proceedings before the Delhi High Court. &ldquo;And we request the Delhi High Court to allow him to intervene in the high court and raise all contentions therein. If all grievances are not redressed then nothing stops him or any other public spirited individual to approach this court,&rdquo; the bench said.
Mishra said the passengers are suffering as the flights are getting cancelled. &ldquo;It is a grave concern for the public &hellip;but the high court is looking into it. It (the high court) is also a constitutional court. If your grievances are not redressed then you can come here,&rdquo; the CJI said at the outset.
Earlier, the bench refused to accord urgent hearing to the plea seeking judicial intervention in the matter. It said the Centre has taken note of the situation and has taken steps to address it.
IndiGo has been facing heat from both the government and the passengers for cancelling hundreds of flights, citing regulatory changes in the pilots' flight duty and regulations norms. The disruptions have left lakhs of passengers stranded at airports across the country.

A bill to repeal the MGNREGA and bring a new law for rural employment -- Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) Bill, 2025 -- is set to be introduced in the Lok Sabha.
According to a copy of the bill, it seeks to introduce the VB-G RAM G Bill, 2025, in Parliament and repeal the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act of 2005.
The bill aims at establishing a "rural development framework aligned with the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047", by providing a statutory guarantee of 125 days of wage employment in every financial year to every rural household whose adult members volunteer to undertake unskilled manual work.
The bill has been listed in the Lok Sabha in the supplementary list of business issued on Monday.
Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, in the statement of purpose of the Bill, said MGNREGA has provided guaranteed wage-employment to rural households over the past 20 years.
However, "further strengthening has become necessary in view of the significant socio-economic transformation witnessed in the rural landscape driven by widespread coverage of the social security interventions and saturation-oriented implementation of major government schemes", he said.
While the MGNREGA focused on the goal to "enhance the livelihood security", the new bill says it aims to promote "empowerment, growth, convergence and saturation for a prosperous and resilient rural Bharat", and lays emphasis on "empowerment, growth, convergence and saturation through public works aggregating into forming Viksit Bharat National Rural Infrastructure Stack".
Water security through water-related works, core rural infrastructure, livelihood-related infrastructure, and special works to mitigate extreme weather events will be the "thematic focus". It will also facilitate adequate farm-labour availability during peak agricultural seasons.
According to the bill, it is crucial to facilitate the availability of farm labour, especially during the peak agricultural season. It has a provision to empower states to notify in advance, for a certain duration, covering peak sowing and harvesting seasons, during which execution of works under this bill will not be undertaken.
With a focus on institutionalised convergence, the bill seeks to integrate 'Viksit Gram Panchayat Plans' with the PM Gati Shakti to address the "varying needs" of village panchayats.
A comprehensive digital ecosystem, including biometric authentication at various levels, global positioning system or mobile-based worksite monitoring, real-time management information system dashboards, proactive public disclosures, and use of artificial intelligence for planning, audits and fraud risk mitigation, will be used to modernise governance, accountability and citizen engagement, the bill stated.
It will be a centrally sponsored scheme, and every state government will have to prepare a scheme for giving effect to the guarantee proposed under this bill, within a period of six months from the date of the commencement of the Act.
The centre would make an allocation for each state, to be estimated based on certain parameters. Further, expenditure in excess of the approved normative allocation shall be the responsibility of the state governments.
The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, better known as MGNREGA, aims at enhancing the livelihood security of households in rural areas by providing at least 100 days of guaranteed wage employment in a financial year to every household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual work. It was enacted in 2005.
The Winter Session of Parliament, which started on December 1, will conclude on December 19.

With Delhi ready to welcome Messi, police are maintaining heightened vigil, especially in view of the recent fiasco in Kolkata, where chaos erupted at the Salt Lake Stadium after thousands of fans protested over failing to get a clear glimpse of the icon.
Delhi Police said an elaborate and multi-layered security bandobast has been put in place for Messi's visit. A senior police officer said comprehensive arrangements have been made with a strong focus on crowd management, access control and traffic regulation.
According to police, multiple security rings have been established around the venue, with deployment of additional police personnel along with paramilitary forces to maintain law and order. Entry to the stadium and designated areas is being strictly regulated, and no one is being permitted without a valid pass.
"Anti-sabotage checks, frisking points and surveillance through CCTV cameras form a key part of the security plan," the officer said.
The officer added that quick reaction teams, senior supervisory officers and emergency response units are on standby throughout the event, with public safety being the top priority.
On the traffic front, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Nishant Gupta said they have identified three main parking areas for labelled vehicles, including P1 near Vikram Nagar. Vehicles without labels are required to be parked at the Rajghat Powerhouse parking lot and Mata Sundari Lane, from where pedestrians can walk to the stadium.
App-based taxi users have been advised to alight vehicles at Rajghat Chowk and walk. Parking has been strictly prohibited around the Arun Jaitley Stadium, and vehicles found parked there will be towed and fined, the officer said.
The public has been encouraged to use the metro and buses as far as possible to reduce congestion and ensure smooth movement.
Public movement is expected to pick up around 11 am. Commuters have been advised to avoid Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, ITO, Delhi Gate, Netaji Subhash Marg and Brijmohan Chowk from 10 am till the event concludes.&nbsp;

The foggy conditions coincided with a sharp deterioration in air quality. Delhi&rsquo;s Air Quality Index (AQI) plunged into the &ldquo;Severe Plus&rdquo; category, crossing 456. In Ashok Vihar, the AQI touched the maximum level of 500 during the early hours of the day.
Several areas reported alarmingly high pollution levels. Visuals from Anand Vihar and Akshardham showed thick toxic smog engulfing the neighbourhoods, with AQI readings at 493, placing them in the &lsquo;Severe&rsquo; category. Dwarka also witnessed similar conditions, recording an AQI of 469, which falls under the &lsquo;Severe&rsquo; bracket. In neighbouring Noida, air quality deteriorated further, with the AQI reaching 454, categorised as &lsquo;Severe Plus&rsquo;.
As per official classification, an AQI of 51&ndash;100 is considered &lsquo;satisfactory&rsquo;, 101&ndash;200 &lsquo;moderate&rsquo;, 201&ndash;300 &lsquo;poor&rsquo;, 301&ndash;400 &lsquo;very poor&rsquo;, 401&ndash;450 &lsquo;severe&rsquo;, and 451&ndash;500 &lsquo;severe plus&rsquo;.
Videos circulating on social media showed dense fog blanketing much of the Delhi-NCR region, reducing visibility to near zero and making driving conditions extremely hazardous.
In response to the worsening weather, Delhi airport issued an advisory on Monday morning warning passengers of possible delays in flight operations. Travellers were advised to check with their respective airlines before heading to the airport.

Nine people were killed and 23 others injured after a bus fell off a ghat road and turned turtle in Alluri Sitaramaraju district in the early hours of Friday, police said.
They said the bus, which was heading to neighbouring Telangana, was carrying 37 people, including the driver and the cleaner. Six of them are safe.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Bardar said the accident occurred around 4.30 am on Chintoor-Maredumilli ghat road near a Durga temple.
"At least nine people were killed, and 23 were injured as the bus fell off the ghat road. It turned turtle... and got stuck," Bardar told PTI, adding that four of the injured are critical.
According to the officer, it is likely that the bus driver did not see a curve at the accident site due to heavy fog.
Police said the bus plunged from a higher ghat road and was lying upside down by a road located below. The accident occurred near the China Wall, which was built to prevent vehicles from plunging off the road.
"We don't think the death toll will rise, and the four critically injured persons are doing okay," said a police official.
The SP noted that the bus was carrying people from Chittoor area, who had completed a visit to Araku and were proceeding to Sri Rama temple at Bhadrachalam in Telangana district.
Mothugudem police station booked a case under Section 106 (which deals with causing death by rash and negligent driving) of BNS.
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed anguish over the accident.
The Chief Minister spoke to officials over the accident to enquire about the treatment being offered to the injured persons, said an official press release.
Officials informed Naidu that the injured persons were shifted to Chinturu hospital and other hospitals for better treatment.

"IndiGo has cancelled 54 flights -- 31 arrivals and 23 departures -- from Bengaluru Airport on Friday," a source said. The crisis-hit airline had cancelled over 200 flights from Delhi and Bengaluru on Thursday.
Meanwhile, IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers and COO Isidre Porqueras will appear again before the DGCA's investigation panel at 2 PM on Friday.
The DGCA on Thursday stepped up scrutiny of the crisis-hit IndiGo, with officials stationing themselves at the carrier's headquarters to monitor operations, and an inquiry panel grilled CEO Pieter Elbers. The four-member panel comprises Joint Director General Sanjay Brahamane, Deputy Director General Amit Gupta, senior Flight Operations Inspector Kapil Manglik, and FOI Lokesh Rampal, with a mandate to identify the root causes of widespread operational disruptions at the leading domestic carrier.
The committee's mandate includes assessing manpower planning, fluctuating rostering systems, and the airline's preparedness to implement the latest duty period and rest norms for pilots, which came into effect from November 1 this year.

Ripples of Saturday's Salt Lake Stadium spectator rampage during Argentine football legend Lionel Messi's showcase event reached the corridors of the Calcutta High Court on Monday, after Acting Chief Justice Sujoy Pal allowed the filing of three separate PILs related to the fiasco.
The petitions sought the court&rsquo;s intervention to transfer the probe into the stadium violence to central agencies such as the CBI, the Enforcement Directorate (ED), and the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO).
The petitions, separately moved by the state's Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari and advocates Sabyasachi Chattopadhyay and Mainak Ghoshal, are likely to be heard together by the court later this week.
Appearing for Adhikari, advocate Bilwadal Bhattacharya sought permission to file a petition seeking the court's intervention into unearthing the factors that led to the crowd unrest on Saturday. He also challenged the authority of the three-member inquiry committee constituted by the state government and headed by retired justice Ashim Kumar Ray.
The turn of events led to a loss of face for West Bengal before the entire world, the petitioner alleged.
The other two petitions claimed that the state-appointed committee was constituted in haste and prayed that possible financial irregularities in the sale of tickets and suspicious monetary transactions linked to the event should also be probed.
Bidhannagar Police, which is currently investigating the case, has ordered the freezing of bank accounts of the organisation responsible for the sale and distribution of tickets and has directed the stoppage of monetary transactions between the organisation and Shatadru Dutta, the prime organiser of the event, who has since been arrested, officials said.
The state-appointed high-level committee led by retired justice Ashim Kumar Ray, which also comprises the chief secretary and home secretary as members, visited the ransacked stadium on Sunday to take stock of the damages and informed reporters that it would submit its report within the next fortnight.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, while announcing the formation of the committee within hours of the incident, said its mandate included fixing accountability and suggesting measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
An estimated damage of over Rs 2 crore to the stadium was caused on account of spectator outrage, who resorted to an unprecedented rampage after Messi's brief and tightly ring-fenced appearance&mdash;his first at the venue since 2011&mdash;left large sections of the crowd frustrated, as they failed to catch a glimpse of their superstar despite having travelled from far and wide, paying hefty sums for tickets.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday slammed the government over its move to change the name of MGNREGA, asking what is the government's intention behind removing the name of Mahatma Gandhi who is the tallest leader not just in India but in the world.
A bill to repeal the MGNREGA and bring a new law for rural employment -- Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) Bill, 2025 -- is set to be introduced in the Lok Sabha. According to a copy of the bill, it seeks to introduce the VB-G RAM G Bill, 2025, in Parliament and repeal the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) of 2005.
Asked about the government's move, Priyanka Gandhi said, "Whenever the name of a scheme is changed there are so many changes that have to be made in offices, stationery... for which money is spent. So, what is the benefit, why it is being done?"
"Why is Mahatma Gandhi's name being removed. Mahatma Gandhi is considered the tallest leader not just in the country but in the world, so removing his name, I really don't understand what is the objective? What is their intention?" she told reporters in Parliament House complex.
"Even when we are debating it is on other issues not the real issues of the people. Time is being wasted, money is being wasted, they are disrupting themselves," Priyanka Gandhi added.
The bill aims at establishing a "rural development framework aligned with the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047", by providing a statutory guarantee of 125 days of wage employment in every financial year to every rural household whose adult members volunteer to undertake unskilled manual work.
The bill has been listed in the Lok Sabha in the supplementary list of business issued on Monday.
Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, in the statement of purpose of the Bill, said MGNREGA has provided guaranteed wage-employment to rural households over the past 20 years.
However, "further strengthening has become necessary in view of the significant socio-economic transformation witnessed in the rural landscape driven by widespread coverage of the social security interventions and saturation-oriented implementation of major government schemes", he said.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Monday conveyed to his Australian counterpart Penny Wong India's "fullest support" to Australia in the wake of a deadly shooting incident at the iconic Bondi Beach targeting a Jewish celebration that left 15 people dead.
In a phone conversation with Wong, Jaishankar also condoled the death of innocent people in the attack.

Fifteen people were killed and over 40 others injured in the attack by two gunmen on Sunday, according to Australian authorities.
Hours after the incident, Jaishankar condemned the terror attack. Condemn in the strongest terms the terror attack on Hanukkah celebrations in Bondi Beach, he said on Sunday. "Our thoughts are with the victims and their families," he said.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese described the attack as a "dark moment" for the country.
"This is a targeted attack on Jewish Australians on the first day of Hanukkah, which should be a day of joy, a celebration of faith," he told reporters. "At this dark moment for our nation, our police and security agencies are working to determine anyone associated with this outrage," he said.
The shooting at Bondi followed a wave of antisemitic attacks in the country. The attackers were identified as father and son duo of Sajid Akram and Naveed Akram. The father was shot dead by police while the son sustained injuries and he is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was among the world leaders who condemned the attack.
"Strongly condemn the ghastly terrorist attack carried out today at Bondi Beach, Australia, targeting people celebrating the first day of the Jewish festival of Hanukkah," Modi said on X on Sunday.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath accused Jawaharlal Nehru of making Kashmir controversial and fuelling extremism, while praising Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel&rsquo;s role in integrating princely states.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Yogi Adityanath on Monday blamed Jawaharlal Nehru for the extremism and separatism "emanating from Kashmir", and alleged that the first prime minister of India made the issue so "controversial" that it continues to sting the country even now.
Addressing an event on the 75th death anniversary of the country's first home minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, he referred to the integration of over 560 princely states into the Union of India and pointed to Junagadh and Hyderabad, which were prickly thorns in the process.
"All the Hindu princely states of India agreed to become a part of the Republic of India, but the Nawab of Junagadh and the Nizam of Hyderabad refused. Both had to be integrated into India. Through a bloodless revolution, solely due to Sardar Patel's wisdom, these two princely states became a part of India," Adityanath said.
He went on to say that there was uncertainty about the fate of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir.
"So, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru took the matter into his own hands. He made Jammu and Kashmir so controversial that it continued to sting India even after Independence. The country got extremism ('ugravaad') and separatism ('algaavaad') from Kashmir because of Pandit Nehru," the Uttar Pradesh chief minister claimed.
He added that the country is grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who, by fulfilling the dreams of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Syama Prasad Mookerjee, has abolished Article 370 in Kashmir, making it an integral part of India, while taking forward the resolve of one country, one constitution, and one flag.
"There were 567 princely states at the time of Independence, and they were integrated into the Republic of India. The country will always remember Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as its architect. This is his creation," the chief minister said.
He pointed out that the Nawab of Junagadh and Hyderabad's Nizam did not want to join India, as the British gave the princely states the freedom to choose whether they wanted to join India or Pakistan, or maintain their independent existence.
Eulogising Sardar Patel, the Uttar Pradesh chief minister said the first home minister of India initiated numerous programmes in the country.
"Be it the restoration of the Somnath temple, the development of a mechanism to resolve various disputes within India, or giving the Indian Administrative Service its present form, all of this was made possible because of this great leader, Vallabhbhai Patel."
"It was the country's misfortune that just when India needed the glorious leadership of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for a longer period, he passed away on December 15, 1950," Adityanath said.
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak also spoke on this occasion.
Earlier, in a post on X, Adityanath paid tributes to Patel, saying, "On the death anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the architect of India's unity and integrity from north to south and east to west, and the 'Iron Man' and 'Bharat Ratna, ' we pay him our humble tributes!
"His tireless contributions to the country's internal security, self-reliance, and the empowerment of farmers, and his vision of 'Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat, Surakshit Bharat' (One India, Great India, Secure India), are an inspiration to us all," he said.
Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Pathak also paid their tributes to Sardar Patel.
In a post in Hindi on X, Maurya said, "Our humble tributes to the architect of India's unity and integrity, the first home minister and deputy prime minister of Independent India, 'Bharat Ratna', the 'Iron Man' Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, on his death anniversary!"
"'Iron Man' Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel successfully integrated the princely states, providing a strong foundation for the nation's unity and security. By connecting farmers, backward classes, and marginalised sections of society through cooperatives, he propelled the country towards self-employment and self-reliance. His life, imbued with duty, courage, and service to the nation, remains a constant source of inspiration for all of us," Maurya said on X.
Pathak took to X to say, "Humble tributes to the architect of modern India, the symbol of national unity and integrity, the first Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of independent India, Bharat Ratna, the Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, on his death anniversary."
Born in Nadiad, Gujarat, in 1875, Patel was a pivotal figure in India's struggle for Independence. As the country's first home minister, he was instrumental in integrating over 560 princely states into the Indian Union post-Independence. He died in 1950.
