On the second day of the Income Tax Department's investigation at BBC's offices in Delhi and Mumbai, the UK broadcaster reportedly sent an email to its employees.

The email asked staff to cooperate with I-T officials, as per an NDTV report. Employees have been asked to support the investigators, and answer questions comprehensively.

Additionally, staffers were told to answer salary-related questions, but can choose to avoid questions on personal income.

BBC also asked employees in the broadcast department to work from office, while giving others the option to work from home.

I-T officials began what they called a "survey" on 14 February 2023 into alleged irregularities in international tax and transfer pricing issues. Officials visited BBC's offices in the national capital and India's financial capital to check account books, devices, and other materials, according to reports.
