Bengaluru cafe reopens 8 days after blast injured 10

Eight days after a low intensity blast at Bengaluru's Rameshwaram Cafe left 10 people injured, the popular eatery reopened for customers on 9th March. Security has been tightened at the cafe that saw a long queue of customer early morning.

Before opening the cafe, its co-founder Raghavendra Rao and all staff joined for the National Anthem.

According to the administration, metal detectors have been installed at the entrance of the eatery to screen visitors.

"We are taking all the security measures to avoid such incidents in the future. We are strengthening our security team, and are also trying to have a panel of ex-servicemen to train our security guards," Raghavendra Rao said while speaking to ANI.

According to the administration, metal detectors have been installed at the entrance of the eatery to screen customers. Staff will screen every customer with handheld detectors before allowing entry. There would be strict vigilance on all customers and staff will look out for any suspicious activity.

Meanwhile, a cloth merchant from Kaul Bazaar in Ballari and a PFI cadre have been detained by the National Investigation Agency and Central Crime Branch in their joint investigation of the March 1 blast.
