The leaders claimed that Karad had repeatedly threatened Avaada officials, demanding Rs 2 crore, and his associates allegedly attacked security personnel at the company&rsquo;s Massajog storeyard on December 6, 2024.
Deshmukh's abduction, torture, and murder occurred on December 9, and a video of the crime was circulated to intimidate others. His body was later found in a nearby village. The leaders also mentioned that the residents of Massajog staged protests the following day, demanding the arrest of the accused, but the cases were registered only after public pressure mounted.
The memorandum further stated that on December 31, 2024, Karad announced his surrender via a social media video, and crowds gathered at the CID headquarters in Pune during his surrender, causing disorder. The leaders raised concerns about the alleged preferential treatment for Karad and the influence of powerful figures on the investigation.

Hospitals have been advised to stock up on essential medications such as paracetamol, antihistamines, bronchodilators, and cough syrups, along with oxygen supplies for treating mild cases.
They have also been instructed to report Influenza-like Illness (ILI) and SARI cases through the Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP) portal. Strict isolation protocols and universal precautions are mandatory for suspected cases.
The advisory follows reports of rising respiratory illnesses in China, but officials from the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), and the World Health Organization (WHO) have stated that there has been no significant surge in respiratory illnesses in India as of January 2, 2025.

The maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to settle at 18 degrees Celsius, according to the IMD.
Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 320 (very poor) at 9 am, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data showed.
An AQI between 0 and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.
The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) on Sunday revoked stage 3 curbs under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in Delhi-NCR after the region witnessed a dip in air pollution levels owing to favourable meteorological conditions, especially improved wind speed.

Police personnel removed him and his supporters from the protest site as they were holding the demonstration near a restricted area, and thus it was "illegal", a senior officer said.
Kishor was arrested on the fifth day of his fast-unto-death protest over an alleged question paper leak in the December 13 examination conducted by Bihar PSC.
According to Jan Suraaj party's supporters, the police took Kishor to Patna AIIMS for a medical examination.
Talking to PTI, Patna District Magistrate (DM) Chandrashekhar Singh said, "Yes, Kishor and his supporters, who were sitting on a dharna at Gandhi Maidan, were arrested by the police on Monday morning. They will now be produced before a court."
Their demonstration was "illegal", he said, adding that they were holding the sit-in near the restricted site.
&ldquo;Despite repeated requests by the officials concerned, they did not leave the place. They had also been served notice by the district administration to shift their dharna to Gardani Bagh, the dedicated place for holding protests, in the state capital," the DM said.
The Patna Police had registered a case against Kishor for holding the fast unto death at Gandhi Maidan&rsquo;s restricted site, another official said.
The district administration also issued a statement, claiming that the "Kishor is absolutely fine".
Immediately after his arrest, the poll strategist-turned-politician was taken to Patna AIIMS for a medical check-up.
When Kishor was being taken out from the AIIMS in an ambulance, his supporters tried to block the road outside the hospital.
A "mild force was used to disperse Kishor&rsquo;s supporters who gathered outside AIIMS and tried to disrupt traffic movement", said a senior police officer.
Kishor began his fast unto death on January 2 in support of the civil service aspirants who have been demanding the cancellation of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) examination held on December 13 last year.
However, the BPSC had ordered the retest for a select group of candidates who had appeared in the December 13 exam, which was embroiled over allegations of question paper leak.
The retest was held on January 4 at 22 centres here.
Of 12,012 candidates, around 8,111 aspirants had downloaded their admit cards for the re-exam.
However, 5,943 candidates appeared for the retest last week.
The retest was held peacefully at all centres without report of any misconduct and malpractice, the BPSC said in a statement issued on Saturday.

The ministry also highlighted a recent video shared by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on X.
"The video shows a nearly full-to-brim glass of water adjacent to a mobile on a plain surface inside a Vande Bharat sleeper train. "The post came after 3 days of successful trials, which concluded on 2nd January, in which a Vande Bharat sleeper train in its loaded condition touched the peak speed," it added.
According to the ministry, on January 2, during a 30-km run between Kota and Laban in Bundi district of Rajasthan, the train reached a peak speed of 180 km per hour.

"A day earlier, i.e. on the first day of 2025, in a 40 km long trial run between Rohal Khurd to Kota, Vande Bharat sleeper train touched the peak of 180 km per hour, the press note said.
"On the same day, peaks of 170 km/hr &amp; 160km/hr were achieved on Kota-Nagda &amp; Rohal Khurd-Chau Mahla sections. These trials will continue for the month of January under the supervision of RDSO, Lucknow," it added.
Once these trials are over, the train will be evaluated by the Railway Safety Commissioner at the maximum speed and only after passing the final stage, it will be officially certified and handed over to Indian Railways for induction and regular services.
The ministry stated that Vande Bharat sleeper trains are designed with features like automatic doors, ultra-comfortable berths, onboard WiFi and an aircraft-like design.
"With these successful trials, rail commuters can hope for a world-class travel experience in long-distance travel like Kashmir to Kanyakumari, Delhi to Mumbai, Howrah to Chennai and many other routes also," the ministry said.

CBSE Class 10 Board exam results out on cbseresults.nic.in; no toppers' list this year

Hours after releasing the Class 12 Board exam results, the Central Board of Secondary Education declared results for Class 10 Board exams as well.
The results were published on cbseresults.nic.in on May 12, 2023.
93.12% of the students cleared the exam. This was 1.28% lower than a year earlier.
Girl students performed better, with a pass percentage of 94.25, while boys stood at 92.27%.
Like for Class 12, CBSE did not publish a list of toppers to prevent "unhealthy competition".

The report released on Monday is an in-depth analysis of English proficiency trends across India, the Philippines, Japan, Egypt, Colombia and Europe.
The Pearson Global English Proficiency Report 2024 aggregated and analysed data from approximately 750,000 Versant tests conducted worldwide, offering a detailed snapshot of current skill levels and emerging trends. Versant by Pearson is an English Language assessment tool that accurately and efficiently evaluates candidates' English language proficiency, assisting businesses in hiring the best talent suited for their needs.
The report cited that while India's average English skills score (52) is lower than the global average English skills score (57), the country's average English speaking score (57) is higher (54).
The report also said India's average English writing score (61) is equivalent to the global average writing score (61).
Delhi led with the highest English speaking score (63) followed by Rajasthan (60) and Punjab (58).
"In today's global economy, English proficiency is not just a skill but a strategic asset. The Pearson Global English Proficiency Report 2024 provides business leaders with the data-driven insights they need to make informed decisions about hiring and developing their workforce. By integrating these insights into their talent strategies, organizations can enhance their competitive edge and drive growth," said Giovanni Giovannelli, president of Pearson's English Language Learning division.
According to the report, the Indian market has experienced significant growth in English skills in recent years, which is predicted to continue, with an emphasis on voice-based testing.
"Indian Business leaders know that accurately testing English skills reduces the cost of mis-hires and protects credibility, particularly when hiring at scale. India's average writing score is 61, matching the global average, reflecting steady improvements driven by increased digital communication and the necessity for written English in global business contexts," it said.
In India, the finance and banking sector leads with the highest speaking score of 63, surpassing the global average of 56, it said.
"Conversely, Healthcare has the lowest score (45), influenced by its rapid expansion and the focus on increasing access to jobs... Other sectors like Tech, Consulting and BPO show strong performance, consistently aligning with or exceeding global benchmarks," the report said.

The Congress party on Monday unveiled the "Pyari Didi Yojana," promising Rs 2,500 in monthly financial assistance to women if the party is voted into power in Delhi. The scheme will follow the model successfully implemented by the Congress government in Karnataka.
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, who announced the scheme, said its goal is to financially empower women in Delhi. He assured that the initiative would be rolled out at the first Cabinet meeting of the new government in Delhi. "We are confident that the Congress will form the next government in Delhi, and on the first day of the new Cabinet, we will implement the Pyari Didi Yojana to provide Rs 2,500 to every woman in the capital," Shivakumar stated.
The announcement came ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for February. Delhi Congress President Devender Yadav, party in-charge Qazi Nizamuddin, and other senior leaders were present at the event.

A two-month-old boy admitted to a private hospital in Ahmedabad has been detected with Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) infection, an official said on Monday.
Gujarat Health Minister Rushikesh Patel asked people not to panic and said the state government has made preparations to tackle the viral infection.
The infant, who hails from Dungarpur in Rajasthan, was admitted to the hospital, located in Chandkheda locality here, on December 24 with symptoms of respiratory infection.
After tests, he was found positive for the HMPV, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation's in-charge medical officer of health Bhavin Solanki said.
"HMPV (infection) was detected in the patient on December 26, but we learnt about it today as the private hospital reported it to us late," Solanki said.
The patient was kept in isolation, the official said.
Earlier, the child was kept on a ventilator, and his condition is stable now, Solanki said.
Before this, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has detected two cases of HMPV in Karnataka through routine surveillance for multiple respiratory viral pathogens. Patel said the state Health and Family Welfare Department is on alert and has made preparations and arrangements to tackle this viral infection.
"As part of the precautionary measures, the health department held a meeting on January 4 and instructed every chief district health officer, civil surgeon, superintendents of sub-district hospitals in the state to pay full attention to matters related to the infection of this virus," he said.
Arrangements will be made for the diagnosis of HMPV in various government hospitals, the minister said.
He asked people not to panic, but understand the viral infection symptoms and take measures accordingly.
The Union health ministry has emphasised that HMPV is already in circulation globally, including in India, and cases of respiratory illnesses associated with it have been reported in various countries.
Furthermore, based on the current data from the ICMR and the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) network, there has been no unusual surge in Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) or Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) cases in the country, it said.
Amid reports of rising cases of respiratory illnesses in China in the past few weeks, a meeting of the Joint Monitoring Group (JMG) was held under the chairmanship of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday.

Eight jawans of District Reserve Guards (DRG) and a civilian driver were killed after Naxals blew up their vehicle with an improvised explosive device in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district on Monday, police said.
The incident took place near Ambeli village under Kutru police station when the security personnel were returning in their Scorpio vehicle after an anti-Naxalite operation, Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range) Sundarraj P said.
The DRG is a unit of the state police.
This is the biggest strike on security personnel by Naxalites in the last two years, an official said.
On April 26, 2023, ten police personnel and a civilian driver were killed after Naxals blew up their vehicle, which was part of a convoy carrying security personnel in neighbouring Dantewada district.
