ISRO will attempt to revive Chandrayaan-3's lander and rover during the lunar sunrise. Scientists are hoping the equipment survived the cold lunar night.

Chandrayaan-3: ISRO will try to revive lander, rover during lunar sunrise

Indian Space Research Organisation is set to attempt to revive Chandrayaan-3’s Vikram lander and Pragyan rover during the lunar sunrise on September 22.

ISRO Director Nilesh Desai said that the lander and rover were put on sleep mode on September 3. He added that since September 20, the Sun has started rising on the Moon, so the solar panels on the rover and lander will get charged.

The scientists at ISRO are hoping that the lander and rover would have survived night temperatures as low as -200 degrees Celsius during its hibernation.

As per ISRO officials, if the onboard instruments survive the low temperatures of lunar night, they can continue collecting more data from the lunar surface for another 14 days.
