Chandrayaan-3 Launch: What after launch; when will it land on Moon? Entire schedule explained

Chandrayaan-3 was successfully launched on July 14 but the most important part of the mission will happen around a month later.

Right after launch, Chandrayaan 3 will orbit the Earth several times, before undertaking a slingshot manoeuvre towards the Moon.

Chandrayaan 3 landing date, time and place

Chandrayaan-3 will take around a month to reach the South polar region of the moon and will then enter into a circular orbit.

After this, lander 'Vikram' will get detached from the propulsion module. The landing is scheduled for August 23 or 24, depending on sunrise on the Moon. If there is any delay, ISRO will reschedule the Vikram landing in September 2023.

Chandrayaan 3 Lander and Rover Name

After landing, lander named Vikram (valour in Sanskrit) will deploy the rover named Pragyan (wisdom in Sanskrit), and various instruments will begin their studies.

The surface operations will go on for 14 days. Meanwhile, the propulsion module will remain in the Moon's orbit to help communication with Earth.
