Denmark's Crown Prince Frederik André Henrik Christian and Crown Princess Mary Elizabeth arrived in Delhi on 26 February 2023 for a 4-day visit.

In another addition to the Narendra Modi government's list of diplomatic achievements, the royal family of Denmark is on its first visit to India in two decades.

Denmark's Crown Prince Frederik André Henrik Christian and Crown Princess Mary Elizabeth arrived in Delhi on 26 February 2023 for a 4-day visit. The royals visited the Taj Mahal in Agra on the first day of their trip. They will also tour Chennai before departing on 2 March.

The royal couple is learnt to be accompanied by Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen, Environment Minister Magnus Heunicke and Minister for Climate, Energy and Utilities Lars Aagaard.

"During the visit, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince will meet the Vice President and will address the opening session of the India-Denmark: Partners for Green and Sustainable Progress, organised by CII. He will also call-on President Droupadi Murmu," the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said earlier.

The Crown Prince had earlier visited India in 2003. Before this, Queen Margrethe II had visited India in 1963 as Crown Princess.
