Halloween 2023: 'Ganji chudails' are taking over social media this spooky season

A chudail universe created by Majedar Kahani has got the internet in a chokehold and things got even more hilarious when Desis decided to dress up as 'Ganji Chudail' for Halloween.

There are a number of reels doing rounds on the internet of desis dressed sporting a green skin and a bald look inspired by the 'ganji chudail'.

These videos have managed to garner millions of views and are entertaining people this Halloween.

What is the origin of Ganji Chudail?

Created by Majedar Kahani, the 'ganji chudail' is the talk of the town. But her origin story is truly something none of us could have imagined. Hema had gorgeous hair, the kind that turned heads and inspired envy among those who beheld it. However, her life took an unexpected turn when a new couple, Malini and Ganesh, arrived in the village. Malini's hair was even more lustrous and beautiful than Hema's, a fact that quickly became the subject of admiration among the villagers.

Consumed by jealousy and despair, Hema went to see Malini's hair for herself, only to be overwhelmed by the undeniable truth. She returned home, tears in her eyes, and confided in her husband, Birju, who could not bear to see his wife so distressed.

In a misguided attempt to make Hema happy, Birju, under the weight of his love and desperation, sneaked into Malini's house one fateful night. When Malini lay asleep, he committed a grievous act – he chopped off her hair, leaving her bald. The shock and anguish that overcame Malini upon discovering her loss were unbearable, and she succumbed to her sorrow and pain, leaving this world. From the ashes of this tragic event, the Chudail was born, fueled by an unquenchable thirst for vengeance against those responsible for her suffering. Now, she roams the night, her bald visage an eerie and fearsome sight, on a relentless mission to avenge what happened to her.
