Haryana EC launches social media campaign to encourage youth participation

Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Agarwal said that the Election Commission of India has initiated a unique campaign through social media by giving slogans such as 'Turning 18' and 'You are the One' to inspire the youth to participate in the electoral process enthusiastically during this significant celebration of democracy.

He said that turning 18 symbolizes a new responsibility for the youth to engage actively in the democratic process. They should exercise their right to vote responsibly and select their preferred public representative.

This time, the Election Commission is not only active on the ground but also on social media platforms to enhance voter awareness. There's a significant focus on encouraging new voters to participate. For the youth who are in the age group of 18 to 30 years, the Commission has introduced a new slogan, "You Are the One," urging them to exercise their franchise in the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha general elections.

These young voters are encouraged to share their participation by uploading a photo on social media with the caption 'You are the one' along with the ink mark on their finger.
