BJP's fifth list: one of Sandeshkhali victims to contest from Basirhat

The Bharatiya Janata Party seems to be banking on the Sandeshkhali issue to help it tide over the Mamata Banerjee juggernaut in West Bengal, as it has fielded one of the victims of the violence for the Lok Sabha polls.

According to the 5th list, Rekha Patra, one of the victims of Sandeshkhali, will be contesting from West Bengal's Basirhat constituency, from where TMC has fielded Haji Nurul Islam, considered to be one of the prominent Muslim faces of Bengal's ruling party, and the one who replaced Nusrat Jahan.
