The elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly are due to be held in February next year.
The former Union minister also targeted the AAP and Kejriwal over education and health, alleging it failed to open new Mohalla Clinics and hospitals and did not use the Centre&rsquo;s funds to boost the city&rsquo;s healthcare infrastructure.
He charged that the smog tower in Connaught Place, which was supposed to provide relief from air pollution, was lying defunct although the AAP government spent crores of rupees on advertisement.
He cited water shortage, lack of sanitation, damaged roads, and other issues to corner the ruling AAP.
Thakur also alleged that the AAP has been supporting &ldquo;anti-national&rdquo; forces and Kejriwal questioned India&rsquo;s surgical strikes. He said the party got the support of &ldquo;Khalistanti elements&rdquo; during the Punjab polls.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday that his government has provided nearly 10 lakh permanent government jobs to youths in the last one or one and a half years which, he asserted, is a record.
Addressing recruits at a Rozgar Mela through a virtual event, where over 71,000 people were given appointment letters, he said never before in the tenure of any previous government jobs were provided in such a "mission mode".
The young population is at the centre of his government's policies and programmes, he said, adding honesty and transparency have driven the recruitment process.
Noting that a large number of recruits are women, Modi said it is the endeavour of his government that they become self-dependent in every field.
The government's decision to grant 26-week maternity leave to women has helped them a lot in their careers, he said, noting that women are the majority owners of the house constructed under the 'PM Awas Yojana'.
Women-led development is taking place in the country, he said.

Noting that former prime minister Charan Singh, whose birth anniversary fell on Monday, stood for the development of rural India and for the country's progress, Modi said his government has followed this by creating job and self-employment opportunities in villages.
Speaking at the event, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said over 29 per cent of the 71,000 recruited came from the OBC category.
The backward classes' recruitment has seen a 27 per cent rise under the Modi government compared to the UPA's, he said.
The Schedules Castes and Scheduled Tribes accounted for 15.8 and 9.6 respectively for Monday's recruitments, Singh added.

The award was instituted in 1974 and has since been conferred on select global leaders. It has been previously awarded to foreign leaders like Bill Clinton, Prince Charles and George Bush.
Modi reached Kuwait on Saturday for a two-day visit. His visit is the first by an Indian Prime Minister to the Gulf nation in 43 years.
He received a ceremonial welcome and Guard of Honour at the Bayan Palace.
Modi had earlier received honours from Gulf countries such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain.
In November, Guyana and Dominica conferred their top awards on Prime Minister Modi for his contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic and his exceptional contributions to the global community and efforts in strengthening bilateral ties with the two Caribbean nations.
In the same month, Nigeria conferred its national award - the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger - on Prime Minister Modi for his statesmanship and stellar contribution to fostering bilateral ties, making him the second foreign dignitary to receive the distinction.

The incident took place on Saturday afternoon at the court in Kalyan town and a First Information Report (FIR) was subsequently registered against the accused. The accused, Kiran Santosh Bharam, was produced before District and Additional Sessions Judge R G Waghmare for a hearing in the murder case against him, an official from Mahatma Fule police station said.
At that time, the accused made a request to the judge to assign his case to another court. The judge asked the accused to make an application for the same through his lawyer, the official said.
The name of his lawyer was then called out, but he was not around and did not appear in the court. Hence, the accused was asked to give the name of another lawyer to represent him and was given a fresh date by the court, he said.
The accused then bent down, pulled out his slipper and hurled it in the judge&rsquo;s direction, taking everyone present in the court by surprise, the official said.
An FIR was subsequently registered against the accused under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 132 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) and 125 (act endangering life or personal safety of others), the police added.&nbsp;

Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang&rsquo;s emergence as the undisputed satrap from Sikkim is the story of the year as he led the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) to a resounding victory in the April 2024 assembly polls.
Joining the company of his illustrious predecessors, Nar Bahadur Bhandari and Pawan Kumar Chamling, the 56-year-old guided the SKM to register a whitewash in 31 out of the 32 assembly seats which were up for grabs.

The results were so overwhelmingly one-sided that Chamling, the five-term former chief minister, was rendered ineligible to set foot in the state legislative assembly for the first time in 40 years after he was vanquished by ruling party greenhorns from two assembly constituencies he had contested.
The landslide margin even surprised the chief minister who had set his sights on winning 26 seats.
&ldquo;Twenty-six seats are certain. We will have to make serious efforts to convince the voters in the remaining six to get a bigger mandate to serve the people of Sikkim for a second term,&rdquo; Tamang had said at one of his election rallies.
The SKM supremo gave credit for the party's landslide victory to the hard work of its cadres and the trust of the people in his government.
"It is because of the love and trust of the people that we have managed to secure in the past five years in government. Besides, party cadres worked very hard. Now, we have the next five years to give our 100 per cent for the people of Sikkim," he had said at a gathering in Paljor Stadium.
Taking oath as the chief minister for a second term a week later after the announcement of the election results, Tamang vowed to work hard to fulfil all the promises he made to the people.
"In five years, we will fulfil all the announcements that we made at the time of the elections," he said.
Post-elections, the SKM supremo has managed to significantly boost his stake in the NDA and earn extra yield from the bloc despite not having a formal alliance with the BJP.
Tamang has been observed attending all national events as well as swearing-in ceremonies of BJP governments in various states as an esteemed ally of the Narendra Modi-led power centre of the country.
Politics apart, Sikkim has also remained at the receiving end of nature's fury this year after monsoon rains wreaked havoc with North Sikkim bearing the brunt of downpours, which destroyed road and communication infrastructure forcing evacuation of over 2000 stranded tourists by IAF helicopters and other modes of transportation in June.
The state also suffered a substantial financial brunt on its coffers after monsoon rains washed away large chunks of NH-10, the lone road link with the rest of the country, inside Sikkim and West Bengal, bringing commercial activities to a grinding halt for significant periods.
Taking note of this perennial woe of Sikkim, the Centre handed over the highway's maintenance to the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited.

A total of 2,200 cases of violence against Hindus and other minorities have been reported in Bangladesh this year till December 8, and India's expectation is Dhaka will take necessary measures to ensure their safety, the government said on Friday.
Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh gave the information in a written response to a query in Lok Sabha, citing data from minority and human rights organisations.
In Pakistan, the number of cases of violence against Hindus and other minorities in Pakistan this year stood at "112 till October 2024," the MoS said.
The corresponding figures for 2022 were 47 in Bangladesh and 241 in Pakistan, while in 2023 the figures were 302 in Bangladesh and 103 in Pakistan, according to the data he shared.
The minister said the Indian government has urged "Pakistan to take steps to prevent religious intolerance, sectarian violence, systemic persecution and attacks on minority communities and ensure their safety, security, and well-being."
He added, "India continues to highlight the plight of minorities in Pakistan at appropriate international fora."
Cases of violence against Hindus and other minorities in other neighbouring
countries (except Pakistan and Bangladesh) is "nil," the minister said.
Singh was asked about the total number of cases of violence against Hindus and other minorities reported in neighbouring countries during the last three years,
country-wise and year-wise; and the steps taken or proposed to be taken by the ministry to protect minorities, including diplomatic interventions and relief measures.
The Union minister in his response also said the "government has taken serious note of these incidents and shared its concerns with the government of Bangladesh."
"India's expectation is that Bangladesh will take all necessary measures to ensure safety and welfare of Hindus and other minorities. The same was also reiterated during the visit of the Foreign Secretary to Bangladesh on December 9, 2024," he added.
The High Commission of India in Dhaka "continues to monitor the situation" related to the minorities in Bangladesh "closely," the Minister of State for External Affairs said.
"The primary responsibility for the protection of life and liberty of all citizens, including minorities, rests with the government of the country concerned," he said.
Ties between India and Bangladesh came under severe strain after deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina was forced to leave the country in the face of a massive anti-government protest in August.
Nobel Peace laureate Muhammad Yunus came to power days after Hasina took shelter in India.
He heads Bangladesh's interim government as its Chief Advisor.
Relations between the two nations deteriorated further in recent weeks over attacks on the Hindus and the arrest of Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das.
"Several incidents of desecration and damage to Hindu temples and deities in Bangladesh have been reported in the past few months," Singh said.

Northern Railways on Friday commenced New Year and winter season special trains on the UNESCO world heritage Shimla-Kalka narrow gauge railway line, an official said.
The trains will operate until February 28, 2025 for tourist visiting Shimla during the holiday season, Station Superintendent Shimla Railway Station Sanjay Ghera.
He said that 81 passengers boarded the train on the very first day.
According to the schedule, train number 52443 (KLK-SML) will depart from Kalka at 8:05 am and will reach Shimla at 1:35 pm. Similarly, another train number 52444, will depart from Shimla at 4:50 pm and will reach Kalka at 9:45 pm.
These special holiday trains would not only be instrumental in promoting tourism but will also generate revenue for the railways, Ghera said and added that the train can accommodate about 156 passengers.
The trains will stop at Dharampur, Barog, Solan, Kandaghat and Summerhill railway stations. There are a total of seven coaches including three general coaches and two each of chair car and first class.
An official of Northern Railways, Ambala Division said the decision to run two holiday trains was prompted by the surge in tourist inflow to Shimla during Christmas and New Year.

The findings, published in The Lancet Regional Health Southeast Asia, showed a "significant improvement in timely initiation of cancer treatment as a result of the introduction of PM-JAY".

Enrolling under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) -- India's national health insurance program -- increased access to timely initiation of cancer treatment by 33 per cent, a study has found.
Researchers, including those from the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, also found that under the scheme, patients diagnosed with cancer after 2018, when the program was launched, were at a 36 per cent higher chance of timely initiation of treatment within 30 days, compared to those diagnosed between 1995 and 2017.
The findings, published in The Lancet Regional Health Southeast Asia, showed a "significant improvement in timely initiation of cancer treatment as a result of the introduction of PM-JAY".
The researchers analysed responses of almost 6,700 cancer patients, recruited between October 2020 and March 2022, from "selected seven leading cancer care hospitals" across six states, such as Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Delhi.
The patients were interviewed on aspects, including health care costs and quality of life, as part of the protocol 'National Cancer Database for Cost and Quality of Life', developed in 2018 and described in a study published in the British Medical Journal Open.
Overall, the typical duration before initiating cancer treatment following diagnosis was found to be 20 days.
The duration was observed to be highest among patients with head and neck cancer (29 days), followed by that observed among breast cancer patients (25 days) and lowest among patients with haematological cancers (11 days), the researchers found.
They also found an overall declining trend in delays in the time taken before starting cancer treatment over the years, and the "slope of this decreasing trend was notably higher among patients availing benefits under AB PM-JAY".
This suggested a higher chance of timely treatment initiation for cancer patients as a result of enrolment, the authors said and attributed it to the "expansion of cancer care services under national flagship insurance program".
The team also found lower chances of delays in timely treatment initiation among those having a higher income, compared to those having a lower income.
This was the "first-ever study to cover all types of cancer patients in a nationally representative sample", according to the authors.
"Our study recommends expanding AB PM-JAY cancer packages to include cost-effective treatments, increasing population coverage under screening programs and promoting e-RUPI to reduce financial constraints associated with diagnostic services to address delayed treatment initiation due to unknown cancer stages," they wrote.

Senior NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal, who is sulking over not being included in the new Mahayuti government in Maharashtra, met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis here on Monday.
Talking to reporters after the meeting, Bhujbal said he had an elaborate discussion with the CM on the prevailing political and social atmosphere in the state.
The former state minister was accompanied by his nephew Sameer Bhujbal during the nearly 30-minute meeting with Fadnavis at the latter&rsquo;s &lsquo;Sagar&rsquo; bungalow in Mumbai.
&ldquo;Fadnavis told me that the Other Backward Classes have played an important role in the landslide victory of the Mahayuti in the assembly elections (held on November 20) and he will take care that the OBC community&rsquo;s interest is not harmed,&rdquo; Chhagan Bhujbal said.
He also said Fadnavis has sought some time to think over the issues pertaining to OBCs.
&ldquo;He (Fadnavis) said he would arrive at some decision in 10 to 12 days,&rdquo; the NCP leader added.
OBC leaders are opposed to activist Manoj Jarange&rsquo;s demand for reservation for the Maratha community in the Other Backward Class (Kunbi) category. Bhujbal has also been vocal about his opposition to the demand.
Asked if he was planning to switch over to the BJP, Chhagan Bhujbal refused to elaborate and said he had already spoken his mind on the issue of him being ignored in the ministry expansion.
On Sunday, representatives of OBC organisations from different parts of Maharashtra met him in the city.
The NCP leader, who represents the Yevla constituency in Nashik district, did not attend the winter session of the state legislature that concluded in Nagpur on Saturday. He left for Nashik on the first day of the session, a day after 39 Mahayuti MLAs took oath as ministers.
The Mahayuti, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar&rsquo;s NCP, won 230 of the 288 seats in the state assembly polls held last month.
