On Wednesday, he chaired a review meeting at the State Secretariat in Dehradun, discussing developments in agriculture, horticulture, cooperatives, silk production, aromatic plant cultivation, sugarcane, and tea production.
Speaking to reporters, Dhami highlighted the progress achieved over the past three years, noting that unemployment has declined while investment in the state has increased. He also discussed the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).
"Under the guidance of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, the state government has advanced numerous development projects over the past three years. New initiatives have begun, and Uttarakhand ranks at the top in development parameters nationwide. In 2020, the state secured the first position in NITI Aayog's ranking. The unemployment rate has dropped by 4.4%, and large-scale investments have flowed into Uttarakhand. Employment opportunities are being generated, and several groundbreaking projects have been undertaken. Many historic decisions have been made in these three years, including the first implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) post-independence and the introduction of an anti-cheating law," CM Dhami stated.

Encouraging young people to not only become self-sufficient but also create employment opportunities for others, CM Dhami said, "Our aim is that the youth of the state should not only become self-reliant by joining self-employment, but also create new employment opportunities for other youth."
Highlighting initiatives for women&rsquo;s empowerment, CM Dhami described his tenure as "three years of service, good governance, and development." He emphasized that a significant step toward gender equality has been the provision of 30% horizontal reservation for women in government jobs.

NRI Affairs Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal conducted the fourth online NRI Milnee at Punjab Civil Secretariat-1 to address the grievances of NRI Punjabis through video conferencing.
He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab has launched this unique initiative to resolve NRI complaints. He emphasized that Punjab is the only state in the country to implement such a program for the redressal of NRI issues.
During this session, a total of 123 complaints were received&mdash;98 via email and 25 through WhatsApp. Dhaliwal also highlighted that in the last three NRI Milnees, 393 complaints were received, of which 343 cases have already been resolved.
He instructed ADGP NRI Wing of Punjab Police Praveen K Sinha and the SSPs of the concerned districts to promptly address the complaints. Assuring swift resolution, he reiterated that the grievances of NRI Punjabis would be handled with urgency.
Dhaliwal reassured the NRI community, stating, "I am always at your disposal to solve your problems and concerns, and we will leave no stone unturned to resolve your grievances." He also encouraged NRIs to meet him at their convenience for any assistance.
The fourth monthly NRI Milnee was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Dilip Kumar, ADGP NRI Wing Praveen K Sinha, and other officials from the NRI Affairs Department.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government has intensified its crackdown on drug trafficking.
As part of this initiative, authorities demolished the properties of two individuals involved in drug trade in Fazilka district on Thursday.
Local residents welcomed this strict action, praising the government&rsquo;s commitment to eliminating the drug menace.
Leading the operation, SSP Varinder Singh Brar stated that the demolition took place in Mandi Arniwala in the presence of the civil administration team. The individuals, identified as Rani and Bagga, were known for their involvement in drug trafficking and had multiple cases registered against them. Their illegal constructions were demolished as part of the ongoing crackdown. Notably, Rani had three drug-related FIRs against her.
SSP Brar emphasized that the War Against Drugs campaign is transforming into a mass movement, with increasing public participation. He noted that people are now coming forward without fear to report drug traffickers, with the police ensuring confidentiality and swift action on every tip-off. He reiterated that those engaged in drug trafficking would face severe consequences.
Providing further details, SSP Brar revealed that since the campaign's launch on March 1, 2025, a total of 76 drug-related cases have been registered across the district. So far, 111 accused have been arrested and sent to jail. The police have seized 2.383 kg of heroin, 575,585 Pregabalin capsules, 23,279 intoxicating tablets, 7.5 kg of poppy husk, and ₹52,000 in drug money.
In addition to this demolition, similar action had been taken earlier against another drug trafficker in the district.

To strengthen the enrollment drive in Punjab, School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains launched a statewide campaign to boost student admissions in government schools.
The initiative was inaugurated on Thursday at Government Primary Smart School, Phase-2, SAS Nagar.
As part of the campaign, a specially designed van equipped with banners and loudspeakers was flagged off to spread awareness. A total of 23 such vans will travel across all 228 educational blocks in Punjab, encouraging parents to enroll their children in government schools.
The minister emphasized the department&rsquo;s goal of increasing enrollment in pre-primary schools by 10%. Last year, over 3.51 lakh students were enrolled in Punjab&rsquo;s 13,100 pre-primary schools.
This enrollment drive aims to identify out-of-school children, promote government school admissions, and enhance community engagement for universal access to education. Local MLAs, Deputy Commissioners, SDMs, public figures, School Management Committees (SMCs), panchayats, and school heads will actively participate in the initiative. The objective is to raise awareness among parents and the community about the importance of education and encourage school enrollment.
Highlighting the achievements of the School Education Department, Bains shared that 189 students from government schools successfully cleared the JEE Mains examination this year. He praised their success as a testament to the quality of education in government institutions and congratulated both the students and their teachers for this accomplishment.
He also outlined the efforts of the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, in improving school education and infrastructure over the past three years. Government schools have been equipped with essential amenities, including Wi-Fi, furniture, separate toilets for boys and girls, and transportation facilities for students in Schools of Eminence and 17 girls&rsquo; schools. Additionally, over 10,000 new classrooms have been built, 6,000 classrooms renovated, and 1,300 km of boundary walls constructed in 8,000 government schools.
The event was also attended by Director SCERT Amaninder Kaur Brar, Director School Education (Secondary) Paramjit Singh, and other senior officials of the department.

Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains has written to the Himachal Pradesh CM, NGT, and CPCB, demanding urgent action against industrial pollution contaminating Punjab&rsquo;s water bodies, posing serious environmental and public health risks.

Raising urgent concerns over the pollution of Punjab's water bodies due to industrial effluents from Himachal Pradesh (HP), Punjab Education Minister and Anandpur Sahib MLA Harjot Singh Bains has written to HP Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, urging swift and stringent action to address this environmental and public health crisis.
Bains has also reached out to the Chairperson of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) and the Member Secretary of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), seeking immediate intervention to protect public health, particularly in his constituency, Anandpur Sahib.
In his communication, he cited test results from the Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB), which confirmed that hazardous industrial waste from HP&rsquo;s industrial zones is flowing into the Swan and Barmala Khad, eventually contaminating the Sutlej River. Highlighting the gravity of the situation, he referred to an incident in Barmala Khad, where multiple wild pigs died due to intoxication caused by polluted water. This unchecked contamination is not only deteriorating the Sutlej River but also posing serious health risks to local communities.
In his letter to the Himachal Pradesh CM, Bains referenced PPCB reports and numerous complaints from residents of his constituency, urging personal intervention to stop the discharge of untreated effluents into Punjab's water bodies. He stressed the need for immediate action to curb this environmental hazard.
Expressing deep concerns about preserving ecological balance and ensuring public health in his letter to the NGT Chairperson, Bains called for strict action against industries responsible for pollution. He demanded the immediate closure of those violating pollution norms and urged the NGT to direct HP authorities to implement stringent pollution control measures. Additionally, he requested necessary orders to monitor and remediate the affected water bodies, including the Swan riverbed, Barmala Khad, and the Sutlej River.
In his letter to the CPCB Member Secretary, Bains sought urgent intervention to conduct a thorough inspection of industrial units in the Bathari and Golthai industrial areas of HP. He called for the immediate cessation of untreated industrial discharge into the Swan and Barmala Khad streams and urged strict enforcement of environmental norms, along with punitive action against industries violating pollution regulations. He also emphasized the need for long-term remediation measures to restore water quality in the affected regions.
&ldquo;The rivers are the lifelines of Punjab, and their contamination poses a severe threat to public health, agriculture, and biodiversity," Bains said, stressing the urgency of taking immediate action to prevent further damage.

The 5th Onshore Security Coordination Committee (OSCC) meeting for Punjab took place on Thursday at Hotel Hyatt Regency, Chandigarh, under the chairmanship of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Security SS Srivastava, who represented DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav.
Senior officials from Punjab Police, including ADGP Internal Security Shive Kumar Verma and ADGP Cybercrime V Neeraja, participated in the meeting, along with OSCC Chairman ED (O&amp;M) GAIL RK Singh and Advisor (Security) GAIL Saurabh Tolumbia. Representatives from the oil and gas sector, Intelligence Bureau, Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and other relevant departments were also present.
During the discussions, representatives from companies such as GAIL, IOCL, HPCL, BPCL, HMEL, Think Gas, and Torrent Gas provided insights into their operations and outlined security challenges affecting their installations.
Key topics included strengthening security measures, enhancing security protocols, and utilizing advanced CCTV surveillance for improved vigilance.
Addressing the gathering, ADGP SS Srivastava underscored the importance of maintaining a strong information network to address issues like oil theft and pipeline leakages. He also highlighted the need for regular mock drills and continuous updates to contingency plans, particularly in high-risk zones.
Reaffirming Punjab Police&rsquo;s commitment to supporting oil and gas companies, the ADGP encouraged stakeholders to seek assistance for any security-related concerns. He stressed the significance of effective coordination among all stakeholders to safeguard national assets.
ADGP Shive Kumar Verma emphasized the necessity of collaboration between oil and gas companies, local police, and the administration, stating that a strong liaison is crucial for effective security and management.
Highlighting the increasing threat of cyber security breaches, ADGP Cyber Crime V Neeraja assured comprehensive support from the Punjab Cyber Crime Division. She proposed deploying specialized teams to assess cybersecurity frameworks and provide recommendations to enhance security at oil and gas installations.

This collective effort marks a crucial step in the ongoing battle to eliminate the drug menace from society.
Launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the campaign has evolved into a grassroots movement, with villages and towns actively participating in the fight against drugs.
Amidst the intensified crackdown on drug traffickers and peddlers, the Punjab Police, led by Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav, has also initiated a special awareness drive to encourage public cooperation and strengthen the collective resolve to combat this crisis.
Sharing insights on the initiative, Special DGP (Law and Order) Arpit Shukla stated that police commissioners and senior superintendents (CPs/SSPs) have been directed to organize various awareness programs, including SAMPARK meetings and student interactions, to engage the public, youth, NGOs, and clubs in the anti-drug movement.
He highlighted that since the launch of Yudh Nashian Virudh, 3,022 panchayats have pledged their commitment to fighting drug abuse, supporting rehabilitation initiatives, and strengthening police-public partnerships to eradicate drugs from society.
According to the Special DGP, the overwhelming public support has reinforced the Punjab Police&rsquo;s enforcement efforts, leading to intensified raids across the state.
Detailing the latest developments, he revealed that on Thursday alone, 97 drug smugglers were arrested, and significant quantities of narcotics, including 1.5 kg of heroin, 100 grams of opium, 2 kg of ganja, and ₹1.86 lakh in drug money, were seized. In the past 20 days, a total of 2,463 individuals have been arrested, underscoring the ongoing crackdown on drug networks.
Special DGP Arpit Shukla further stated that more than 200 police teams, consisting of over 1,300 personnel and supervised by 84 gazetted officers, conducted raids at 440 locations across Punjab, leading to the registration of 58 FIRs. Additionally, police teams examined 478 suspicious individuals as part of the day-long operation.
He emphasized that the state government has adopted a three-pronged strategy&mdash;Enforcement, De-addiction, and Prevention (EDP)&mdash;to tackle the drug crisis. As part of the de-addiction effort, Punjab Police has convinced seven individuals to seek rehabilitation, while 103 awareness events have been organized to prevent drug abuse.
In a parallel effort, Punjab Police also carried out extensive searches in jails across six districts&mdash;Hoshiarpur, SBS Nagar, Jalandhar Rural, Commissionerate Jalandhar, Kapurthala, and Rupnagar&mdash;to curb illegal activities. &ldquo;Our police teams have thoroughly searched every nook and corner, including barracks, kitchens, and toilets, to ensure strict vigilance inside the jail premises,&rdquo; said Special DGP Arpit Shukla.

Chaitra Navratri, one of the two most widely observed Navratris in India, is a nine-day festival dedicated to Goddess Durga and her nine divine forms. The festival concludes with Rama Navami, celebrating the birth of Lord Ram. Navratri is observed with great devotion across the country, featuring rituals, prayers, and cultural festivities.
In another key event, CM Adityanath inaugurated the newly constructed Tehsil Building in Mihimpurwa, Bahraich district, which was completed at a cost of ₹845.19 lakh. Gabbard's visit to New Delhi highlighted the decades strong US-India relationship that is bolstered by the leadership of and friendship between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump, a spokesperson at the office of Director of National Intelligence (DNI) said.
She arrived in the national capital early Sunday on a two-and-a-half-day trip in the first high-level visit to India by a top official of the Donald Trump administration.
Gabbard held separate meetings with Prime Minister Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and NSA Ajit Doval.
"In India, the DNI held several bilateral engagements, including with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi," the spokesperson said.
"DNI Gabbard's meetings in India focused on intelligence-sharing, defence, counterterrorism, and transnational threats," the official added.
Gabbard also delivered a speech at the Raisina Dialogue, focusing on Trump's efforts on bringing peace to various conflict-ridden regions.
"President Trump remains unwavering in his commitment to achieving peace through a strategy rooted in realism and pragmatism," she said.
"Securing peace through strength requires strong leadership with a clear-eyed and realistic understanding of global challenges and opportunities, a commitment to fostering cultural and economic ties that reduce the likelihood of an escalation to conflict, and a dedication to reinforcing mutual interests," she added.
In his meeting with Gabbard, Defence Minister Singh conveyed to her India's concerns over activities of Khalistani separatist group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) on American soil and urged her to declare it as a designated terrorist entity, Indian government sources said after the talks.
Singh also apprised Gabbard about SFJ's alleged links with Pakistani spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) as well as its "collaboration" with Babbar Khalsa militant group, and pressed for action against it, they said.

Concerns about Mr. Gandhi's citizenship have persisted for years. Originally a Lok Sabha MP from 2004 and presently the Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Gandhi&rsquo;s nationality has been questioned in a new petition.
This petition, brought forward by a Karnataka-based BJP worker named Shishir, also seeks an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
Shishir claims to possess confidential emails supporting his assertion that Mr. Gandhi is included in the UK&rsquo;s citizenship records.
"We have direct communication from the UK government," he informed NDTV, citing documents that suggest Mr. Gandhi holds dual citizenship, which is prohibited under Indian law.
Last November, Justices Rajan Roy and Om Prakash Shukla, in response to the ongoing petition, instructed Deputy Solicitor General SB Pandey to file directions about any action taken on this plea. The Home Ministry was initially given three weeks to respond, which remains pending.
Parallel to this, the Delhi High Court is addressing a similar plea filed by former BJP MP Subramanian Swamy in 2019.
Mr. Swamy, who first made these allegations in 2015, argued before Chief Justice DK Upadhyaya and Justice TR Gedela that his correspondence on Mr. Gandhi's citizenship went unanswered.
Notably, Mr. Swamy's allegations rest on records from a defunct British company, established in 2003, which purportedly identified Mr. Gandhi as a UK national.
The Congress party has consistently refuted these allegations. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Mr. Gandhi's sister, has publicly supported him, stating, "Everyone knows Rahul Gandhi is Indian and was born and raised here..." Rahul Gandhi himself has dismissed these claims as an attempt to tarnish his reputation.
The Delhi High Court has expressed concern about the dual proceedings, as the matter is being heard both in Allahabad and Delhi. The court has questioned the central government's seeming reluctance to act on these petitions.

You might be told only to speak on certain topics and not to interview people like me," she remarked to reporters.
Bachchan criticized the current political climate, referring to instances of violence and the recent political shifts in Maharashtra, questioning whether it disrespects Balasaheb Thackeray's legacy.
Arvind Sawant, a Shiv Sena (UBT) MP, also defended Kamra, stating that everything said in the comedian's special, "Naya Bharat," accurately reflects the opposition's allegations.

Sawant called for strict action against those involved in vandalizing the Habitat Comedy Club in Khar, Mumbai, urging that an FIR should be registered against the perpetrators. "Can't they handle criticism?" he questioned.
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi condemned the vandalism as a sign of increasing intolerance. "This kind of behavior shows a troubling lack of tolerance. Instead of engaging in hooliganism, they could file a police complaint if they disagree," Chaturvedi told ANI.
She noted the irony of the reaction, as Kamra's joke didn't even explicitly name Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, hinting that the response underscores the truth in Kamra's remarks.
The incident escalated at the Habitat Comedy Club when members of the Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) youth wing disrupted a live performance, causing significant damage.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday said stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra should apologise for insulting Deputy CM Eknath Shinde with his remarks, and asserted that "urban Naxals" and "Left liberals" supporting such acts will be taught a lesson.
Talking to reporters in the state legislature complex, Fadnavis said Kamra's action was condemnable.
During his performance at the Habitat Studio at the Unicontinental hotel in Mumbai's Khar area, Kamra had referred to Shiv Sena leader Shinde as a "traitor" and went on to sing a parody on him.
Kamra used a modified version of a Hindi song from the movie 'Dil Toh Pagal Hai' to describe the 2022 rebellion of Shinde against his then boss Uddhav Thackeray.
Fadnavis said, "The 2024 assembly polls results have shown who is 'gaddar' (traitor) and who is 'khuddar' (self-respecting). People have put a stamp of approval on Shinde being the true inheritor of (Shiv Sena founder) Bal Thackeray's legacy."
He said the people have defeated those who betrayed Bal Thackeray's ideology.
"People have the freedom of satire and comedy. But insulting (a person) deliberately is not allowed. Kamra showed the red book of the Constitution which is carried by Rahul Gandhi. Both have not read the Constitution. He cannot justify his action by showing the book," the CM said.
"The Constitution says when you attack others' freedom, your own freedom is restricted," Fadnavis said.
Kamra cannot justify his actions and escape action by showing Rahul Gandhi's Constitution (red book), he said.
Speaking in the state assembly after the issue figured in the House, Fadnavis reiterated that Kamra has insulted Shinde.
"We have no objection to political satire. We like and appreciate it. But insulting people on constitutional posts and targeting institutions will not be tolerated, and the 'urban Naxals' and 'Left liberals' supporting such acts will be taught a lesson," he said.
The "reckless" misuse of the freedom of speech will not be tolerated, the CM said.
How can comments made by influencer Ranveer Allahbadia about parents be tolerated? Fadnavis asked.
Allahbadia had been in the eye of storm over his comments during a show on parents and sex.
 "We will not succumb to the pressure and take strictest possible action," Fadnavis said.
He said Kamra has a history of making low-level comments on the Prime Minister, the Chief Justice of India and the judiciary.
"His modus operandi is to create a controversy for publicity," the chief minister said.
Fadnavis said Kamra has now targeted Deputy CM Shinde, and the people of Maharashtra showed through the 2024 assembly polls mandate that who is "khuddar" (self-respecting) and who is "gaddar" (traitor).
"Is Kamra bigger than the people of Maharashtra?" he asked.
The people of Maharashtra have shown that Shinde is the true inheritor of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray's ideology.
"Kamra's aim was to belittle Shinde in the eyes of the people. The opposition is supporting such a talk and one wonders whether Kamra is hand-in-glove with the opposition. He has posted a picture of himself with a red copy of the Constitution book which Rahul Gandhi carries," Fadnavis said.
"When you attack the freedom of others, your freedom is restricted. If you insult people on constitutional posts to create disturbances by taking supari (contract) to get publicity, it will not be tolerated. No one will object to stand-up comedy and satire. If we behave recklessly in the garb of freedom of speech and expression, it will not be tolerated. Strict action will be taken as per law," the CM said.
Earlier, the House witnessed uproarious scenes over the Kamra show row, with Shiv Sena members demanding strict action against the stand-up comedian.
Arjun Khotkar (of Shiv Sena) raised the issue and demanded strict action against Kamra.
Minister Shambhuraj Desai also supported Khotkar's demand.
Members of the ruling benches were on their feet shouting slogans.
Speaker Rahul Narwekar then adjourned the House for five minutes.
On Sunday night, several Shiv Sena workers went to the studio and allegedly vandalised it and the hotel, according to police.
The Mumbai police on Monday registered an FIR against Kamra for allegedly making defamatory remarks against Shinde, officials earlier said.
The police also arrested Shiv Sena functionary Rahul Kanal and 11 others for ransacking the venue at the Mumbai hotel where Kamra made the controversial "traitor" jibe against Shinde, an official said.

The police also registered a case against nearly 40 Shiv Sena workers for allegedly vandalising the Habitat Studio in Mumbai's Khar area, where Kamra's show with "gaddar" (traitor) jibe at Shinde was filmed, and a hotel where the studio is located, they said.
Kamra taunted Shinde using a modified version of a Hindi song from the film "Dil To Pagal Hai", eliciting laughter from the audience.
While leaders of the ruling Mahayuti termed Kamra a "contract comedian" and warned he would be forced to flee the country, the opposition dubbed the FIR against him as "mockery of law" and said police should specify words which can't be used to criticise the government.
Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel said the party workers will not allow Kamra to move on streets if he doesn't apologise to Shinde in two days.

Several Shiv Sena workers on Sunday night gathered outside Hotel Unicontinental, where the Habitat Studio is located. They allegedly ransacked the studio and the hotel premises, the police said.

After a video went viral showing Kamra allegedly using defamatory words against Shinde, MLA Patel lodged a police complaint.

The MIDC police registered an FIR against Kamra under BNS sections 353(1)(b) (statements conducing to public mischief) and 356(2) (defamation), an official said.

In the nearly 2-minute video, Kamra also mocked the ruling NCP and Shiv Sena, the MIDC police official said, adding a probe was on.

Another FIR was registered by the Khar police against 19 Shiv Sena functionaries, including Rahul Kanal, Kunal Sarmalkar and Akshay Panvelkar, and 15 to 20 unidentified persons for allegedly vandalising the studio and ransacking the hotel properties, an official said.
Kanal and Sarmalkar were brought to Khar police station and notices were served to them, he said.
The police have also detained several Shiv Sena workers involved in vandalism, the official said.

Panvelkar, Kanal, Sarmarkar and other Shiv Sainiks entered the hotel and studio and damaged them, Khar police sub-inspector Vijay Saed, on whose complaint the FIR was lodged, alleged in his statement.

They shouted slogans like "Shiv Sena Zindabad". When the police intervened, they allegedly pushed the on-duty personnel and also manhandled hotel staffers. They were later brought to the police station for further probe, Saed said.
State Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik, who visited the Khar police station, said the studio where the programme was shot was illegal.
"We will not tolerate mocking of our leader. Police and civic authorities should take action against them. I came to the police station to check on police action on our workers," the Shiv Sena leader added.
Sena MP Naresh Mhaske warned Kamra that he would no longer be allowed to roam freely in Maharashtra and would be chased by the party workers throughout the country.
"You will be forced to flee India," he said in a message.
Calling Kamra a "contract comedian", Mhaske said he should not have stepped on the "tail of a snake".
"Once the fangs are out, there will be dire consequences," he said.
The MP also alleged the comedian had accepted money from Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and was targeting Shinde.
He accused political opponents of hiring stand-up comedians like Kamra for publicity.
The Shiv Sena will not tolerate such insults and the party workers would ensure a strong response to Kamra's remarks, he added.
Sena MLA Patel said he would show "Kamra his level" and asked him to apologise.
"Our Shiv Sainiks will blacken his face wherever he is found," he said.
BJP MLA Ram Kadam said Kamra seems to be targeting Shinde on someone's instructions.
"As he has crossed the limits, we will blacken his face wherever we spot him," Kadam said.
On the other side, AAP Mumbai president Preeti Sharma Menon supported Kamra.
"We support @kunalkamra88 unequivocally. Shame @Dev_Fadnavis - Eknath shinde has just shown that you have zero powers as home minister. You couldn't keep peace in Nagpur and now you have brought vandalism to Mumbai!" she said.
State Congress general secretary Sachin Sawant said in the case where a simple non-cognizable offence can't stand, an FIR is registered and this is "mockery of law".
The aim is to scare political opponents, he claimed.
The ruling alliance leaders are openly issuing threats and making provocative statements, but the government doesn't move, he charged.
The police should publish a list of words which cannot be used when criticising the government, and it should also declare what is okay for the ruling alliance leaders, Sawant said.
State Congress chief spokesperson Atul Londhe said, "Why is there so much intolerance? We do not support such vandalism. If sentiments are getting easily hurt, then they could have filed a complaint against him at the police station."
"Kamra is a stand-up comedian and he made some commentary about the current political scenario in the state. If you are against it, then ban the entire stand-up comedy form. Why afraid of mere commentary? It is against freedom of speech," he said.

Justice Varma, who was appointed in October 2021, currently presides over a division bench that deals with sales tax, goods and services tax, and company appeals, as per the Delhi High Court's website.
This suspension follows the Supreme Court's formation of a three-member committee, which includes the chief justices of the Punjab and Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Karnataka High Courts, to probe the matter.
Last week, Justice Varma claimed neither he nor his family stored any cash in the outhouse, which he described as "disconnected from the main residence," and noted it remains unlocked and accessible to outsiders.
Declaring himself "truly shocked," he suggested a "conspiracy" against him. He also asserted that all family cash withdrawals are well-documented through regular banking channels, UPI applications, and cards.
The controversy initially erupted when reports of the cash surfaced and the Supreme Court Collegium considered transferring Justice Varma back to the Allahabad High Court.&nbsp;
This proposed transfer prompted calls for an exhaustive inquiry, including from senior advocate Harish Salve, who criticized the Collegium system as ill-equipped to handle such matters. Salve advocated the transfer be suspended until the facts are confirmed.
Subsequently, the Supreme Court clarified that Justice Varma's 'transfer' had no relation to the cash inquiry, dismissing it as "misinformation" and "rumours," and declared an in-house investigation.
In an extraordinary gesture to promote transparency, the Supreme Court released a report by the Delhi High Court, including photographs and videos, although some portions were redacted for confidentiality.
The discovery of the burned money also led to further confusion after Delhi Fire Services chief Atul Garg denied making any statements about the cash, stating he had clarified the situation with media outlets reporting false information.
