    Delhi air quality continued to remain in the severe category on Sunday morning with an air quality index or AQI of 436.

    The pollution in the national capital had dipped marginally during the day on Saturduy due to strong winds but it still remained severe.

    According to the Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi's air quality index stood at 449 at 8 am, and 437 at 4 pm on Saturday.

    The weather office has said that strong surface winds will keep sweeping through the Delhi-NCR on Sunday as well and are expected to flush out pollutants.

    They also said that air quality degraded to the 'severe' zone in the Delhi-NCR due to unfavourable weather conditions, low temperature and low mixing height and a poisonous cocktail of emissions from firecrackers, stubble burning and local sources.
