Long queues due to 'revenge travel' post Covid: Centre to Delhi HC

Responding to reports of congestion at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, Civil Aviation Ministry told Delhi High Court that the situation will be "resolved soon."

The Delhi International Airport Limited and Ministry of Civil Aviation on Tuesday informed the court that reports of long queues and delays were due to exponential rise in travellers or 'revenge travel' post relaxations in Covid-19 restrictions.

The two bodies, however, assured that systems are being put in place to manage the footfall and skyrocketing demand, adding that number of flights are being increased.

The court was also informed that measures like CISF personnel, app for smooth transit of passengers were already in place.
