Two BJP MPs suffered head injuries in a face-off between the opposition and NDA members in Parliament premises on Thursday and were admitted to the ICU of the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital here.
Pratap Sarangi (69) from Odisha and Mukesh Rajput from Uttar Pradesh were brought to the hospital from Parliament with head injuries, the hospital's Medical Superintendent Dr Ajay Shukla said.
"Sarangi was bleeding profusely. He had a deep cut on his forehead and it had to be stitched. His blood pressure and anxiety level were high when he was brought in," the doctor said.
"Rajput also had a head injury immediately after which he lost consciousness. However, the MP was in his senses when he was brought to the hospital. His blood pressure levels had also shot up," Dr Shukla said.
The medical superintendent of the RML Hospital said both the MPs have been administered medicines to manage their blood pressure, pain and anxiety while investigations like CT scan of the head and cardiac tests were underway.
"Both of them are in ICU. We are trying to stabilise them," the doctor said.
A face-off between the opposition and NDA MPs in Parliament premises over the alleged insult to B R Ambedkar left former minister Pratap Chandra Sarangi injured. The BJP accused Rahul Gandhi of pushing the senior member, a charge rejected by the Congress leader.
Trouble began when the INDIA bloc members insisted on entering Parliament through the BJP MPs holding a protest instead of using the space left empty on one side of the staircase of the Makar Dwar, used by members to enter and exit the building.
Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said BJP MP Mukesh Rajput was also injured in the melee. Prime Minister Narendra Modi called up Sarangi and Rajput and enquired about their health after they sustained injuries in the Parliament complex, sources said.
The 69-year-old Sarangi, a BJP member from Balasore in Odisha, suffered injuries on the left temple of his forehead. BJP member Nishikant Dubey accused Gandhi of pushing the senior leader.
"Are you not ashamed Rahul, you are resorting to rowdy behaviour ('gundagardi'). You pushed an old man," a furious Dubey charged Gandhi.
"He pushed me," Gandhi countered Dubey, walking off after having a cursory look at Sarangi, who was being attended to by fellow BJP members.
"Rahul Gandhi pushed an MP, who fell on me and I got injured," he told reporters as BJP members squatted at the Makar Dwar raising slogans against the Congress.
"I was trying to enter Parliament and the BJP MPs were stopping me, pushing me and threatening me," Gandhi told reporters in Parliament premises.
Later, Union Ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Pralhad Joshi met Sarangi and the hospital to inquire about his well-being. Chouhan told TV reporters that Sarangi received a few stitches to stop the bleeding.
"Appropriate action will be taken after examining the injuries suffered by Sarangi," Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said. "Parliament is not a place to show physical strength. It is not a wrestling ring," he added.

Accusing the BJP of lowering the dignity of Parliament, the Congress on Thursday claimed that BJP MPs pushed its chief Mallikarjun Kharge and "physically manhandled" the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi.
In a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, senior Congress MPs asked him to initiate an inquiry into the incident. Separate marches by the opposition and ruling party MPs over the alleged insult to B R Ambedkar led to jostling in Parliament premises in the morning, leaving BJP MPs Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput injured.
The BJP accused Rahul Gandhi of pushing the senior member, a charge rejected by the Congress leader.
Several Congress leaders, including Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Gaurav Gogoi and K C Venugopal, spoke on the matter.
The Congress said BJP MPs had sticks in their hands and Kharge was threatened and pushed.

Asked if Kharge and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi had also been pushed, Rahul Gandhi said, "It has happened but we don't get bothered with this pushing around."
"This is the entry to Parliament, we have a right to go inside and the BJP members were stopping us from going inside," he alleged and pointed to the Makar Dwar.
In their letter to Birla, some senior Congress MPs said they were writing to express their "deep anguish" over the incident that happened when members of the INDIA alliance were peacefully protesting and marching from the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar statue to Makar Dwar.
"However, as we attempted to enter the Parliament through Makar Dwar, the protesting MPs were physically obstructed from entering," said the letter signed by Congress MPs K C Venugopal, Kodikunnil Suresh, Ravindra Chavan Dean Kuriakose and V K Sreekandan.
"We would also like to bring to your notice that Shri Rahul Gandhi Leader of Opposition was physically manhandled by three MPs from the ruling party. This is a clear violation of the privileges extended to the Leader of Opposition and infringes on the rights accorded to him in his official capacity as an MP," they said.
Their conduct was not only a blatant assault on the personal dignity of Rahul Gandhi but antithetical to the democratic spirit of our parliament, the letter said.
The MPs expressed the hope that the speaker would treat this matter with utmost seriousness and take appropriate action.
In a post in Hindi on X, Kharge added, "After insulting Baba Saheb Dr. Ambedkar ji, Narendra Modiji also gets the dignity of the Parliament insulted. BJP MPs were armed with placards with thick sticks and were made to push and shove to stop the peaceful protest of INDIA alliance MPs so that their animosity towards Babasaheb, Parliament, Constitution and democracy is not exposed."
"But we will stand firm, we will not tolerate any derogatory comments on Babasaheb. Everyone in the country will strongly oppose BJP/RSS," he said.
According to Congress general secretary Venugopal, the "farcical drama" in Parliament House was a grand display of the "BJP&rsquo;s &lsquo;Save Ambedkar-Virodhi Amit Shah&rsquo; mission".
For the past 15 days, the Opposition has been peacefully protesting in Parliament House on various issues and no incidents of mishandling or disruptions have been reported, he said.
"The speaker explicitly instructed that the passage to the House must not be blocked. Security guards were entrusted with managing the entrance. We have always complied, never obstructed the way, and cooperated peacefully with security personnel.
Today, after our peaceful dharna at Prerna Sthal and a walk around Samvidhan Sadan carrying posters, we were shocked to witness BJP MPs blocking entrances with sticks attached to posters," he said.
Strangely, no security guards were present despite this being a violation of the Speaker&rsquo;s directives, Venugopal said.
"In a disgraceful turn of events, the stick-wielding BJP MPs pushed the Hon&rsquo;ble Congress president, a senior and respected leader, while the LoP in Lok Sabha was also prevented and pushed from entering the House," he alleged.
"These unruly BJP MPs were the ones responsible for vitiating the atmosphere and lowering the dignity of Parliament. No theatrics or trickery will save them from accountability for the disrespectful comments made by Amit Shah against Babasaheb Ambedkar."
He said the party would take the issue to the streets across the country until the Home minister stepped down for his remarks on Ambedkar.
Congress' deputy leader in the Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi said, "Today I saw the BJP MPs being hostile and threatening towards Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and LoP Rahul Gandhi. The BJP MPs had sticks in their hands. I saw with my own eyes how Mallikarjun Kharge was being threatened and pushed."

The Mumbai police on Thursday said the ferry &lsquo;Neel Kamal&rsquo; that capsized after being hit by a Navy craft off the Gateway of India had a capacity of 90 passengers but had over 100 persons on board.
Thirteen persons, including Navy personnel and two contractual naval employees, were killed in the accident on Wednesday afternoon and 98 were rescued.
According to the documents issued by the Maharashtra Maritime Board concerning the boat, it had permission to carry 84 passengers and 6 crew members but the ferry was carrying over a hundred persons, a police official said.
Police have gathered all the documents related to the boat, he said.
A case has been registered against the Navy craft driver at the Colaba police station, the official said.
The BNS sections invoked in the FIR included those related to causing death by negligence, actions that endanger the personal safety or life of others, rash or negligent navigation of a vessel and acts of mischief that cause wrongful loss or damage to individuals or the public.
There were two German nationals and one Canadian on board &lsquo;Neel Kamal&rsquo; at the time of the mid-sea collision and they were safely rescued, he said.
Cops have so far recorded the statements of nine persons who were rescued by the Indian Navy, Coast Guard, Mumbai police and CISF teams and identification of all the 13 bodies has been done, he said.
The accident-affected Naval craft is in the custody of the Indian Navy and police will demand it whenever needed for the investigation, he said.
Meanwhile, the mangled passenger ferry has been taken to &lsquo;Bhaucha Dhakka&rsquo; (a wharf near Dockyard Road) in south Mumbai, another official said.
Of the 113 persons on board both vessels, 13 died and 98, including two injured, were rescued. There were six persons on board the Navy craft, of which two survived, officials have said. Efforts are underway to trace two missing passengers, they have said.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajesh S said, "The accident occurred near the Barkheda Jaipal crossroads on the Bareilly-Etawah highway when a family travelling to Delhi in an Ertiga car collided with an oncoming truck late Wednesday night."
The deceased were identified as Riyazul Ali (45), Amna (42), Gudiya (9), Tamanna 'Anu' (32), and Noor (6). Gulfisha (25) later succumbed to injuries at a government hospital.
Riyazul, a resident of Kant town in Shahjahanpur, was engaged in the garment business in Delhi, the police said.

Chief Medical Superintendent of the Government Medical College Dr Nepal Singh said five seriously injured people were brought here, of whom Gulfisha (25) died during treatment.

Police said they had taken the truck driver into custody and seized the vehicle.
Shamsher Ali, the uncle of Riyazul, said at the hospital, "The family had come to Shahjahanpur two days ago for a wedding and were returning to Delhi when this tragedy occurred."
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed condolences to the bereaved families.
In a statement, he directed district officials to ensure the injured receive proper treatment and prayed for their speedy recovery.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has upheld the right of a lesbian couple to live together, affirming their freedom to choose partners.
A bench comprising Justices R Raghunandan Rao and K Maheswara Rao was hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by Kavitha (name changed), one of the women, alleging that her partner Lalitha (name changed) was detained by her father against her will and kept her at his residence in Narsipatnam.
The Court on Tuesday further directed the parents of Lalitha not to interfere with the relationship of the couple, asserting that their daughter is a major and can make her own decisions.
The couple has been &ldquo;living together&rdquo; for the past year in Vijayawada.
Based on a missing complaint by Kavitha earlier, police traced Laitha at her father&rsquo;s home, and rescued her. After that, she was kept at a welfare home for 15 days though she pleaded to the police that she was a major and wanted to live with her partner.
Lalitha also lodged a complaint against her father in September alleging that her parents are harassing her over the relationship and other issues.
After the police intervention, Lalitha came back to Vijayawada and started going to work, often meeting her partner.
However, Lalitha&rsquo;s father once again came to her place and took the daughter away forcibly in a vehicle. He kept her in his custody &ldquo;unlawfully&rdquo;, Kavitha alleged in her habeas corpus petition.
The father also lodged a complaint with police alleging that his daughter was abducted by Kavitha and her family members.
Jada Sravan Kumar, counsel for Kavitha, pointing out earlier Supreme Court judgments, argued that the detenue has expressed her unequivocal consent to cohabit with the petitioner in a shared household of the petitioner&rsquo;s parents and would never want to get back to her parents and other family members.
Kumar also informed the court that Lalitha had also expressed her desire to withdraw the complaint she lodged against her parents if she&rsquo;d be allowed to live with the petitioner.
The Vijayawada police on Tuesday produced Lalitha before the High Court following the court&rsquo;s direction.
The Bench while disposing of the petition, also made an observation that no criminal proceedings be initiated against the family members of Lalitha as she was willing to withdraw the complaint.

The department inspected the Sambhal MP&rsquo;s residence on Thursday morning amid heavy security.
Barq is among those booked by the police in connection with the November 24 violence that led to the death of four locals in a clash with security personnel during a court-ordered survey of the Mughal-era Shahi Jama Masjid in the city&rsquo;s Kot Garvi area.
He has filed a writ petition in the Allahabad High Court, seeking a stay on his arrest and has also sought the quashing of the FIR registered against him. The MP was accused of instigating people on November 24 and police alleged that his provocative speech was the reason behind the violence during the survey.
In the writ petition, the MP has pleaded innocence, saying he was wrongly implicated in the matter. According to his counsel, he was not present at the place of the incident, yet he was named as accused in the FIR.

A day after a ferry-Navy craft collision claimed 13 lives off the Mumbai coast, authorities on Thursday made life jackets mandatory for all people taking boat rides from the Gateway of India.
Some tourists, however, said the life jackets would be of help only if people know how to use them. The authorities should instruct people how to use the life jackets in case of an emergency, they said.
Some survivors of the tragedy on Wednesday claimed the ferry did not have enough life jackets.
Thirteen persons, including a Navy personnel and two contractual naval employees, were killed and nearly 100 rescued after the Navy craft carrying out engine trials dashed against the passenger ferry 'Neel Kamal' on Wednesday afternoon.
The ferry was carrying more than 100 passengers from the Gateway of India to the Elephanta Island.
Devidas Jadhav, an assistant boat inspector deputed at the Gateway of India, told PTI that they have made the use of life jackets mandatory for every passenger taking ferry boat to Mandva near Alibaug (in neighbouring Raigad), Elephanta Island or while going for a short ride of the Mumbai harbour.
Sangeeta Dalvi, who was travelling to Mandva with her husband for some work, said passengers must use life jackets as they can save lives in case of an emergency.
She also said there was no need for the people to be scared after Wednesday's accident.
"Such tragedies do not happen everyday. We do not avoid travelling by roads though everyday several accidents occur on roads," Dalvi added.
Suyesh Sharma, a tourist from Chhattisgarh who came to the Gateway of India to take a boat ride as he had time before his return by an evening flight, said life jackets does not prove much helpful in the high sea unless people know how to use them.
"Life jackets could prove helpful only when you know how to use them. Authorities should also tell people how to use them in case of emergency," said Sharma, who often takes up adventure sports like river rafting.
Boat owners from Bhaucha Dhakka (a wharf near the Dockyard Road here) said they insist that people wear life jackets, but passengers are reluctant many a times though they could prove life-saving in case of an emergency.
Ferry boats operate from Bhaucha Dhakka to trans-harbour locations like Uran and Revas in neighbouring Raigad district.
Boat owner Sameer Bamane said some passengers are reluctant to wear life jackets, citing the reason that they feel uncomfortable due to excessive heat and sweat during humid conditions.
"Tourists here do not want to wear the life jacket, but the same people use it without any complaint when they go to other countries like Singapore or Malaysia. It is because the authorities there do not allow a boat to move if even one person is without a life jacket," he said.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde paid tributes at the memorial of RSS founder Dr K B Hedgewar on Thursday and said no one can ignore the Sangh's contribution to nation-building.
The ideologies of the Sangh Parivar and Shiv Sena are same, Shinde told reporters after visiting the Dr Hedgewar Smruti Mandir at Reshimbagh in Nagpur, where Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and other leaders of the ruling allies BJP and Shiv Sena also paid respects.
NCP leader and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, who outfit is also a constituent of the ruling Mahayuti, was not present, while two of his party legislators visited the memorial.
The winter session of the state legislature is currently underway in Nagpur.
As an organisation, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) works selflessly, Shinde said.
The Shiv Sena head further said that he earlier also visited Hedgewar's memorial and had a relation with the Sangh Parivar since childhood.
"I started with a Sangh shakha and then with a Shiv Sena shakha, Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray's ideology and Anand Dighe sahab's teachings. The ideologies of the Sangh Parivar and Shiv Sena are same. How to work without expecting anything should be learnt from the Sangh Parivar," he said.
Shinde said one cannot ignore the contribution of the RSS to nation-building.

State assembly speaker Rahul Narwekar, council's deputy chairperson Neelam Gorhe and various other legislators of the ruling parties also paid homage at the memorials of Dr Hedgewar and M S Golwalkar, the second Sarsanghchalak of the RSS.
They also met with the Sangh office-bearers who gave them a brief introduction of the RSS.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah here and discussed various key issues, including an early restoration of statehood and involving the elected government in the fight against terrorism.
Meeting Shah for the second time after taking over as the chief minister of the Union territory on October 16, Abdullah said the talks took place in a "cordial manner". "We hope to always work in a better environment so that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are benefited from this," he added.

After the meeting that lasted 30 minutes, the chief minister told reporters that he briefed the Union home minister about the situation in the Union territory and the experience of his government in the last two months.
"Yes, I raised the issue of early restoration of statehood with the home minister," Abdullah said, adding that "we hope that Jammu and Kashmir gets its statehood restored soon".
On whether the talks included the militancy situation in the Union territory, he said security and law and order are the responsibility of the lieutenant governor.
"I have always said and I told the home minister that 'you cannot fight militancy and terrorism in a vacuum, you will have to take the public of Jammu and Kashmir in confidence....they will also have to be brought into this battle, and for that, you will have to take into confidence their elected representatives and their elected government'," Abdullah said.
The chief minister said the talks did not include the framing of business rules for the division of powers between the elected government and the lieutenant governor's office and made it clear that the Centre had no role in it.
"Business rules have nothing to do with the government of India. We have to decide it and the Cabinet has to approve it. The Cabinet sub-committee will finalise it and then, we will send it to the LG for approval," he said.
Abdullah will be attending the Goods and Services Tax meeting in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer on December 20. To a question about the proposed hike of 28 per cent on handloom products, he said, "I have not seen such a proposal. If it comes, we will contest it. Not only us, other states will be affected too."
Immediately after Abdullah's meeting ended and he left, Shah began his second meeting with Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and other senior officers to review the law-and-order situation in the Union territory.
Earlier, Abdullah met with Shah on October 23 during his first visit to the national capital after assuming office on October 16.

An altercation erupts between opposition and NDA MPs at Parliament, leaving two BJP MPs injured. Both sides file police complaints, accusing each other of misconduct, amid ongoing protests over the Ambedkar issue.

Clash Erupts Between BJP and Opposition MPs in Parliament, Two BJP MPs Injured

The BJP charged the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha with pushing an MP leading to injuries to two of its lawmakers, but Gandhi denied it and said it was he who was pushed by a ruling party member.

The acrimonious face-off between the opposition and ruling NDA over alleged insult to B R Ambedkar took an unprecedented ugly turn in Parliament premises on Thursday with claims of pushing and shoving involving MPs, leaving two BJP members hospitalised and a woman BJP MP accusing Rahul Gandhi of "misbehaving" with her.
The BJP charged the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha with pushing an MP leading to injuries to two of its lawmakers, but Gandhi denied it and said it was he who was pushed by a ruling party member while Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge also accused protesting BJP members of shoving him and injuring his knees.
Both sides lodged complaints at Parliament Street police station, blaming each other for what must be a sordid incident without parallel involving MPs within the premises of Parliament. They also complained to the respective Chair in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha against each other.
BJP MPs Mukesh Rajput and Pratap Chandra Sarangi sustained injuries and were admitted to the RML hospital, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaking to them over phone to enquire about their health.
The hospital's Medical Superintendent Dr Ajay Shukla said they had sustained head injuries.
"We have filed a complaint against Mr Rahul Gandhi for physical assault and incitement," BJP MP Anurag Thakur told mediapersons outside the police station.
A number of MPs of the ruling BJP-led National Democratic Alliance were protesting at the steps of Parliament's 'Makar Dwar', an entrance and exit reserved for lawmakers, against the Congress' alleged insult of Ambedkar, while MPs from the Congress and its allies were demonstrating over Union Minister Home Amit Shah's remarks on Ambedkar and accused the BJP of slighting the architect of the Constitution.
BJP MPs claimed that Gandhi tried to push his way inside Parliament through the middle of the stairs where they were standing, ignoring a side passage, and caused injuries in the ensuing jostling. However, some opposition MPs claimed that the BJP members refused to give way to Gandhi who was heading to the Lok Sabha to attend the House proceedings.
Rejecting the BJP members' charge, Gandhi told reporters, "I was trying to enter Parliament and the BJP MPs were stopping me, pushing me and threatening me."
The incident happened some minutes before both Houses were to convene at 11 am.
The 69-year-old Sarangi, a BJP member from Balasore in Odisha and a former minister, suffered injuries on the left temple. BJP member Nishikant Dubey accused Gandhi of pushing the senior leader.
"Are you not ashamed Rahul, you are resorting to rowdy behaviour ('gundagardi'). You pushed an old man," a furious Dubey told Gandhi.
"He pushed me," Gandhi countered Dubey, walking off after having a cursory look at Sarangi, who was being attended to by fellow BJP members. Sarangi was later wheeled off to an ambulance.
"Rahul Gandhi pushed an MP, who fell on me and I got injured," he told reporters as BJP members squatted at the Makar Dwar raising slogans against the Congress.
Hitting out at Gandhi, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said appropriate action would be taken in the matter. "Parliament is not a place to show physical strength. It is not a wrestling ring," he said.
Dubey told reporters, "I am a four-time MP, I have seen something like this for the first time. I have never seen Congress leaders barging into the BJP's protest or BJP members doing the same when Congress protests. Why did the Congress disrupt the BJP's protest today? This shows that their only aim is hooliganism."
A number of ruling alliance MPs, including Union ministers, met their injured colleagues in the hospital as the incident blew up into a major row.
Both Houses witnessed massive uproar amid 'Jai Bhim' chants from both sides and were adjourned without witnessing any transaction.
Congress MPs met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and submitted a complaint against the alleged unruly conduct of BJP MPs against Rahul Gandhi and attempts to stop him from entering Parliament House.
Phangnon Konyak, a woman BJP MP from Nagaland, said in the Rajya Sabha that Gandhi came in "very close proximity of me" during a "peaceful" protest and shouted at her. He made her uncomfortable, she said, accusing him of conduct unbecoming of his position as the Leader of Opposition.
Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar said that he has received a communication from Konyak on the incident and she also met him in his chamber. &ldquo;I am looking into it. She was literally in tears," he said in the House.
The Congress and other opposition parties have seized on a part of Home Minister Amit Shah's reference to Ambedkar in his Rajya Sabha speech on Tuesday to target the BJP and demand his resignation.
Shah, defended by Modi and other senior members of the BJP and its allies, has accused the Congress of distorting his speech. The BJP has instead cited the alleged insults to Ambedkar and neglect of his legacy during the long years of the Congress' rule to launch its counter-protest.
In a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Kharge claimed he was pushed by BJP MPs, lost his balance and was forced to sit on the ground, injuring his knees that have already undergone surgery. He has demanded an inquiry into the "attack".
As the INDIA bloc parliamentarians came face to face with the ruling coalition MPs in front of the Makar Dwar of Parliament, the two sides engaged in loud sloganeering in a bid to outdo each other.
Opposition MPs took out a protest march on the Parliament premises. MPs of the Congress, DMK, RJD, SP, the Left and NCP(SP), among others, participated in the protest. Several opposition MPs, including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and K Kanimozhi, were seen wearing blue, a colour associated with Ambedkar.

A group of 70 Hindu pilgrims from India arrive in Lahore to visit the Katas Raj temples, perform religious rituals, and promote peace. The visit includes Bhanu Saptami ceremonies and a new residential complex for pilgrims.

Around 70 Hindu pilgrims arrived in Lahore from India on Thursday to perform religious rituals at the Katas Raj temples in Pakistan's Punjab province.
Katas Raj Temples, also known as Qila Katas, is a complex of several Hindu temples connected to one another by walkways. The temple complex surrounds a pond named Katas, regarded as sacred by Hindus.
The Hindu delegation led by Vijay Kumar Sharma arrived here via the Wagah border crossing. It was warmly received by Additional Secretary (Shrines) Saifullah Khokhar and Pakistan Hindu Temple Management Committee President Krishna Sharma.
"Some 71 Hindus arrived here on Thursday to attend festivities at Katas Raj temples. The pilgrims will travel from Lahore to Katas Raj temples in Chakwal, some 300kms from Lahore, via special buses amid high security on Friday," Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) spokesperson Ghulam Mohayuddin told PTI.
On December 21, the pilgrims will perform religious rituals, including Bhanu Saptami, at the temple, joined by several Pakistani Hindus. Evening ceremonies will include the traditional lighting of lamps (Deep Mala).
The seven-day pilgrimage will conclude on December 25 and the delegation will return to their home land same day.
Talking to reporters at Wagah, Sharma expressed gratitude for the warm reception and highlighted that their visit promotes peace and love. He appreciated the arrangements made by the ETPB.
Additional Secretary (Shrines) Saifullah Khokhar said that under the directives of ETPB Chairman Syed Ataur Rehman, comprehensive arrangements, including security, accommodation and transport, have been made for the Hindu pilgrims.
Krishna Sharma, President of the Pakistan Hindu Temple Management Committee, emphasized that Hindu places of worship in Pakistan are safe, and the ETPB continues to oversee their renovation and maintenance.
The ETPB early this month inaugurated a residential complex built for Hindu pilgrims at the Katas Raj temples.
According to the ETPB, a 36-room residential building next to the Katas Raj temples has been constructed at a cost of PKR190 million.
"It has been ensured that Hindu pilgrims coming from all over the world, including India, can stay here with all facilities," Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Chaudhry Salik Hussain said at the inaugural ceremony.
He said in addition to improved facilities, 6,000 plants of different species have been planted for the health of the temple's environment and conservation of the heritage has been ensured with modern infrastructure and environmental awareness.
He further said the ETPB has installed a 40-KW solar system and spacious parking facilities at the Katas Raj temples so that Hindu pilgrims and tourists from Pakistan and around the world can enjoy complete facilities.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has approved Rs 25.35 crore to set up over 2,500 polling locations, ensuring essential facilities for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections in February 2025.

The total estimated expenditure for these arrangements is expected to be around Rs 25.35 crore, with each polling booth allocated a budget of Rs 19,450.

As the assembly elections approach, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Thursday approved a proposal to release Rs 25.35 crore to begin preparations for the polls.
This includes setting up booths, ensuring proper electricity and lighting arrangements, and providing toilets, drinking water and other essential facilities at over 2,500 locations across the city.
A proposal in this regard, marked under urgent business, was passed in the MCD House to release the expenditure required for this as a priority payment.
"In compliance with directions from the Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi to ensure smooth conduct of the General Elections to the Delhi Legislative Assembly, scheduled for January/February 2025, assured minimum facilities are required to be maintained," the proposal read.
According to the passed proposal, the MCD is tasked with setting up approximately 13,033 polling booths at around 2,538 locations within its jurisdiction.
The total estimated expenditure for these arrangements is expected to be around Rs 25.35 crore, with each polling booth allocated a budget of Rs 19,450.
In addition to setting up polling stations, the MCD is responsible for ensuring provisions for ramps to facilitate PwD (Persons with Disabilities) voters and senior citizens.
It will also establish model/pink polling booths in each assembly constituency as well as one PwD polling station and one youth polling station in each district.
Additional attractive features will be added to polling stations based on the local culture and specific requirements.
The other provisions include setting up shaded waiting areas with seating arrangements for those accompanying voters as well as cr&egrave;che facilities for the children who accompany electors.
The assembly elections are due in February next year.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday reviewed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, the first such meeting on the Union territory since the assembly elections were held.

This was Shah's first meeting to review the security situation in the Union territory after the recent assembly elections that brought to power a National Conference government headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday reviewed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, the first such meeting on the Union territory since the assembly elections were held there during September-October, sources said.
J&amp;K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and top officers of the Army, paramilitary forces, J&amp;K administration, intelligence agencies and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) attended the meeting.
This was Shah's first meeting to review the security situation in the Union territory after the recent assembly elections that brought to power a National Conference government headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
After the abrogation of Article 370 and the bifurcation of the erstwhile state into two UTs in 2019, law and order in Jammu and Kashmir comes under the central government.
The Union home minister had a detailed discussion on the security roadmap for 2025, the sources said.
Sporadic terror incidents have been continuing in Jammu and Kashmir. On October 20, seven people were killed in a terror attack in central Kashmir. Before that, there were attacks on outsiders working in the Valley.
Shah's meeting is expected to take note of the recent terror incidents and the possible steps to be taken on how to stop such attacks in the coming days, the sources added.
According to official data, 142 terrorists were killed in J&amp;K in 2019 and the number is around 45 so far this year.
Fifty civilians were killed in 2019 in the UT, while the figure stood at 14 by the first week of November this year.
