On India trip, Bangladesh minister says this about China, amid criticism of Beijing over Sri Lanka crisis

Amid increasing focus on China's "debt-trap diplomacy" due to the Sri Lanka crisis, another country in the region commented on its ties with India and China, and the difference between the two.

Bangladesh's foreign minister was in Assam's Guwahati on May 28 when he was asked about Dhaka's relations with Delhi and Beijing. AK Abdul Momen called India a "historical, rock-solid" partner, and China a "development" partner.

Momen also commented on the issue of radicalisation and terrorism plaguing the region. He said that the number of radical elements has come down leading to economic prosperity and development. He added that some pockets of terror elements remain, and action is being taken against them.
