Amit Shah urges security forces to collaborate for Naxalism elimination by March 2026

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has called for a concerted effort from all security forces and agencies to completely eliminate Left Wing Extremism (LWE) by March 2026. Speaking at a review meeting on the LWE situation in Chhattisgarh, Shah emphasized that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) would play a crucial role in this mission.

The meeting, held on Monday, was attended by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy CM Vijay Sharma, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, and other key officials, including the director generals of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). Shah praised the coordinated efforts of Chhattisgarh police and other security forces, noting that they had inflicted significant damage on Naxal groups in the past year, a major success in the fight against extremism.

Shah further stressed that while progress has been made, more work remains to completely eliminate Naxalism by the 2026 deadline. He expressed confidence that the combined efforts of agencies such as CRPF, ITBP, BSF, Chhattisgarh police, and the District Reserve Guard (DRG) would lead to the achievement of this goal.

Earlier, Shah visited the Gundam forward operating base in Bijapur district to assess the operational readiness of security forces.
